Heffner 8sec lambo
See below, too much bs to sort through without addressing each point individually. For the record, there is nothing new or earth shattering about the air shifted/no hydraulics/no synchro tranny...look at the russian black sl, they've been running it.
i look at it like this. If it can be driven every day and it works flawlessly, does it matter how its shifted, does the customer care???
Nope, but who's to say that an air shifted transmission, with non of the factory hydraulics, with no synchro's...can be driven every day and work flawlessly...not a street setup i would want, then again, the customer might not care.
Your hunting and trying to insinuate that its got a race only trans in it, are looking to discredit heffner for this performance because of this?
No discrediting, just calling it like it is. It would be nice if he posted all the details about the car, like i've said many times, apparently you've read over it, it's an amazing pass. I would just like to know more about the tranny. I've said it time and time again, the shifts are LIGHTNING quick.
I can read past your bullsh it when you started posting about it above. What is the reason for this? Jason obviously found a way to make the trans shift faster, maybe more reliable? With more power. Who cares how he did it and i at the end of the day would believe his customer will be very happy with what he has done. That in the end is all that matters
yup, agree, i'm sure his customer is happy...with an 8 as his goal, i sure would be. Your point?
Also if i was buying a lambo. I would be more interested in running possible as many passes as i can with out the transmission breaking. So my first ? Would be what would be the best transmission for what i want todo. How many pass can the (archaic .03 shifting factory e gear trans make before breaking) would be my deciding factor in a build like this. We all know the billet transmissions are 30grand. I have been told they dont like to be hooked up and shifted from 1st threw 3rd from a dig with full power, this may be hearsay but why are they not leaving like this car does at the track? Can a oe billet e-gear trans make 50-100 1/4 mile drag strip passes with out breaking?
I don't know the answer to that, but i'm sure ugr does. That's why i'm curious which 8 second pass they will end up making public.
So maybe heffners tranny is better suited for this kind of racing like what the car was built for his customer, again the end user is the customer and he/she is the one who needs to be pleased. That is all that is important here...
Agree, an air shifted tranny with no synchro's is probably the best possible solution for this application. Hell the russians have been using it on the black sl for a while now. Seems to work well for the strip and the standing start events.
All i know is this, this is the first big hp build heffner has built and taken to the track and very first day with it at the track it runs 8.72. There are how many 1250-1500-1700 hp tt. Lambos and how many have been that fast? 1 other car? Most of them run mid 9's to 11's at 150-165mph. Jason brought a whole nother level of awesome to this game with this car. I hope someone gets one of these builds from him for the 1/2mile roll stuff.
Agree, and your point?
So the ? Is will the sigs of all the othre ttg cars now read:
Factory hydraulics, factory control shifted transmission, 1500whp tt gallardo/superleggera

What good is a billet geared trans if it can not be flogged? Uhh, yeah, I spent 30K on this transmission, but I can't launch it hard or hook full power in the first 3 gears. Obviously better than the stocker, but not the ultimate to say the least.
If I recall, the UR car that went 177 in the 1/4 60 footed something like 1.79.
The guys at UR are very good at figuring how to launch and 60' a car. If they could have made the car 60' harder when they ran that number, they would have IMO. It's drag racing 101.
I have to say with all honesty seeing a Gallardo with slicks gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand it is cool, but on the other hand I see that it is like any other drag car except exotic! Hats off to Jason to figure out such a solution! From what has been described, it seems this transmission is beefier and will last longer than the billet geared stocker. If it is nice and accomodating for every day driving it is a good thing. If it has straight cut gears and whines like crazy I can see people complaining. In the end, it is all up to whomever is paying the bill and driving the car. If it is what they like and want nobody should say a word. Then he can hand out a card at cars and coffee that says, "don't let me catch you out on the streets with your stock hydraulic shifting trans with billet gears Beotch!"

My engine builder called me an hour ago and just finished the short block! He's an animal for a 65 year old. I wanna have it on my Dyno by Monday.. Just hope everything else goes good with getting it together. As long as I dont break it getting ready I will be at T.I with my slow turd
Hello friend:-D
The heffner car looks to have some better et's in it, definitely a misfire or slipping clutch approaching the line. Two step on a lambo=cool
Honestly, some UGR fans/their opposition make this hobby look horrible (not houstonT, he seems like a great dude).
