Dallas Performance RS1 Gallardo VIDEO from our 1/2 mile trip
We've been very busy at the shop with our TT Gallardo builds, and haven't really had a chance to publish any media from the Shift S3ctor Airstrip Attack that took place last October, until now. Our main goal at the event was to provide support to our customer Al, in his Stage 3 TT Gallardo, since this was his first 1/2 mile and roll racing event with the car. Al went undefeated the entire weekend, taking home the AWD Roll Race 1st place trophy, along with the Overall Roll Race trophy, and he couldn't be happier with his build!
The second Dallas Performance Gallardo at the event was a black 2008 Superleggera with the factory 6 speed manual. This car is a great platform for the RS1 package, which puts out over 1600whp, while maintaining all the drivability of a street car, complete with the full factory interior. Wanting to see what our RS1 package could do in the 1/2 mile, we decided to run the car for a few solo passes. On our first pass, we crossed the 1/2 mile at over 200mph on a very conservative boost setting, as this was the first time the car was being driven since completion, and Taylor was feeling out the car and runway. On our second pass, Taylor turned up the boost a bit, and we crossed the traps at 220.15 mph, not only breaking the previous record at 217mph, but also becoming the first car to break 220mph in a standing half mile.
