Exclamation Buying my first lambo. Need advice

Alright this is a serious post, I need your advice. I am buying my first ever lamborghini and need your help. My first question is if I should get a 04 model or 05. I know the 05 has a front lift system, is it worth paying extra $ for that and is the front lift system really worth?

Please help me find good deals on 04/05 models under $100k

I am looking at this specific one and been talking to the seller a lot: Lamborghini Gallardo Base Coupe 2 Door | eBay

I found this one at $98500 and have the option of lease or finance. Lease term is $1100 a month with 0% down for 48 or 60 months with no mileage limit and after the 48 mo lease lease these are the buyout options
36 mo. $1782.00 $55,00.00 option
60 mo. $1432.00 $40,000.00 option

On the other hand I can finance I have to put 15-20% down payment and get an interest rate of 5% and monthly payment will be like $1500

So, in conclusion would you recommend leasing or financing. I may not buy at the end of the lease or may buy and it turns out if I do buy it will be $120k if buy with the lease.

My other question is what are your thoughts on this 04 model, I found one with low miles at a good price. On the other hand I want a 05 because of the front lift system but can't find a good deal under $100k, let me know if you find. Is the front lift system really worth it or not?

Another question I live in illinois and winters are pretty bad, would you recommend I just garage during the winter season? What are the yearly maintenance costs I can expect?

Thanks for reading and please add any other comments or advice you can give me on this purchase or anything I need to know about gallarado before buying one. Thank you.

There you go.

Although to be frank, reading the thread I'm picking up vibes that maybe now's not the right time financially to be doing this.

My advise would be to continue to save until you can easily pay for this in cash if you wanted to. GL.

^^ I agree... You may be able to afford the monthly payments comfortably... But I would recommend having a DECENT chunk for a downpayment and a rainy day fund set aside for the car. These are exotic meaning maintenance and repair can be $$$. You don't want to have something happen and not be able to afford the fix immediately.

If it were me, I would want 50%+ down and at least $10K set aside if not more... And I think I'm pushing it on both of those. I usually just do cash tranactions... but that's also because I go through an average of 1-2 cars every 2 years!

About 10 years ago, I wanted a Ferrari 355. I test drove 4 of them and I could buy the car cash. As I was reviewing the receipts I thought to myself although I can afford this car, I can't afford to keep this car. The repairs were insane with the average repair being $3-5k. Some year there were 2-3 repairs. Needless to say I did not buy a F355 and just purchased another NSX.

Last year I purchased a Murcielago and I have to tell you, Lamborghini stealerships do not play when it comes to repairs. I budget 10k a year in repairs and thats only driving the car 1-2k miles a year.

So my two cents would be buy the car "IF" you can comfortably enjoy it.

Good Luck!
