alignment is a definite requirement, lowering the car changes the settings
My '04 was very low and I did an '05 for a friend and we also needed to realign...again very important to realign

coilover has threaded shafts... raise/lower..
the hard part is making exact..
i have my cars lowered/adjusted w/ drivers weight in the seat.
weight in seat... measure all 4 corners..
decide how much to lower.. make a mark on the shock body,.. and lower the perch the amount u want.
i like all 4 corner heights even.. but u can change to w/e.
its not as hard as it seems.. but u have to have some knowledge of what your doing. a far as alignment.. when lowering. you'll add camber and a tad of toe.. id take the car to get realigned to factpry spec after. (but if your already going for alignment.. i bet its same price for adjust/align ;-) saves hassle too
