Just wondering if others have come away with the same feeling before or is pretty much everyone gaa-gaa for the Gallardo? BTW, i'm not exceedingly wealthy so exotics are not an everyday thing for me. This would be a pretty substantial auto purchase. I got back in the 996tt and felt more satisfied with it(would not be trading anything in for the G)
Tell me about it, this was after driving several. I realized i would be buying it for the damn sound with straight pipes, which is ridiculous. I dont care about status of having a lambo or just looks, it didnt thrill me driving wise in any way, but the sound mmmm

I totally agree though!

If you can get a used Murcie for the same money do it! Scissor doors or BAN!

G Rides Inc. is infamous around these parts
Seeing a few comments here that the Gallardo should have scissor doors. What do you guys think of the aftermarket scissor door kits they have available for the Gallardo?

i personally would not modify a stock car for purely cosmetic reasons. i could see adding something that may be a factory option that was not delivered with the car but i think it completely ruins the car to add scissor doors for a car that does not have that option. admittedly i am probably an extremist but i tend to prefer rather stock cars, save remapping the ecu or changing out the exhaust

this is EXACTLY what i'm talking about - glad to know i haven't lost it. that sound when the baffles open up is what ALL aftermarket mufflers should be aiming for

When deciding which Lambo to buy, the Murci was on the top of my list, with the Diablo second and the Gallardo last. What I ended up buying was a Gallardo. The reason?

The Murci is an incredible car but it is so impractical for me. The Murci is significantly wider than the G and would be an adventure just getting in and out of the garage. In addition, some of the back roads I drive on would be very tight for the car. With regard to the Diablo, the car just felt too old. I test drove one and wasn't impressed with the drive. However, I still love the way that the car looks.

With the G, I got the benefit of having a car with essentially the same performance that I would have gotten from the Murci, with much more practicality.

Essentially the same performance? Wrong. The Murcielago is an animal compared to the Gallardo. It is wider but after driving the car for a short period of time you figure out the parameters.

Robert - How does a Murci (pre LP) compare to a Gallardo (06+) in strait line perfomance and handling? Does the Murci simply perform better, or is the experience more exciting (GT2 style animal?)?

I like the Murci more, but it *seems* like the Gallardo would be more fun to drive based on size and weight. Maybe someday I'll find out and be able to speak with experience.

I have the MS Racing Stage II exhaust on my car. No cats. It is closer to LP power levels, so I couldnt tell you how it performs against a stock car.

When it is -10 to -24 degrees Celsius, it is snowing like in a Xmas card, and your 1000 km slushy/frozen trip is destined to 170 km north of the Polar Circle there's only one other car in Gallardo's class - the 997 TT. The difference is that when you get to the Lodge in the Gallardo, you're an instant celebrity. Everyone wants to buy you a drink or invite you to their party. And the women will literally fight for the ride. And it makes absolutely no difference how well you ski, you WILL get laid like James Bond.

Shallow? Maybe. Amazed? **** YEAH!!! (Gallardo SE 6 sp.)
