Curi0 is a BMW fanboy, and thinks the 335i having a busted fuel pump is okay, because it's a "quality" German car.

So my dealer called me yesterday and gave me a super-secret 800# to call and order the LF-A. They also told me the cars will only be offered on a 2-year non-transferable lease. Didn't Ferrari do this with the F50's when they first came out? The dealer told me it would be a $10,000 deposit today and then an additional $50,000 when the car begins production.

I didn't call and get any further details. I would give it out to whomever is interested but I think my 3-year old ran off with the paper I wrote the number on.

$420k with taxes or £343k if you're lucky enough to live in the UK. Funk dat. Good job it's a limited edition of 500. It'd never sell at that price otherwise. I'll have an F458 and McLaren MP4-12C instead.

Reason the price is so high is due to R&D. Everything is made by toyota without outsourcing any parts. Just check out how they make the A-Pillar, only 2 machines exists in the world and Toyota has one.

so another words Toyota is having customers pay for R&D expense on their new cars to save money. Why don't they just copy Corvette all the way no R&D needed.
This car has zero advantage over a Corvette, looks the same, weighs the same, and performs the same. Only difference is fancy pillars and costs 4x as much. Go figure.

Can't blame a company for trying to recoup just "some" of their losses. They're still taking a hit on each one.

The LF-A and ZR1 aren't in the same league. The ZR1 isn't an exotic. There are a ****load more Corvettes than LFA's. ZR1's are nothing more than superfast cars for the track, the LF-A would be usable every day. Oh yeah, tell me that the Corvette interior is on-par with the LF-A interior and the glorious soundtrack of that V10? They look the same? Are you blind? I hope you're able to distinguish girls better than cars

The ZR1 can match the performance of most supercars/exotics out there. By your logic, all Ferrari owners should just sell their cars and pick up two or three ZR1s instead.

I'm not a fan boy, I would never buy a LF-A ever nor will I be offered to buy one... I'd take a Ferrari or Lambo over it anyday but I have to give credit where it's due.

Toyotas and Ferraris don't compare. GM and Totyota do. If you want the glorious sound of a V10 get a Carrera GT at half the price or Viper will do the trick also. I agree with you the Lexus has a nice interior but that's a big price for that. This car would be an asian princess I prefer busty blondes

How about you drop the whole brand-***** thing? What if it didn't carry the Lexus badge? No where did I discredit Corvettes and saying "Oh no matter how good it is it's still a Corvette", it's a ****ty argument. TMC/HMC have more technology up their sleeves than the italians combined. At first when Hyundai first dipped their feet into the luxury segment, everyone.. EVERYONE was like WTF it's a Hyundai GTFO, now it seems like everyone has accepted that it's a decent car.

The point of the LF-A wasn't so that it falls into the Corvette or GTR category.. it's halo flagship to get people interested in Lexus' other offerings.

The price should only be discussed for those offered to buy one, the rest of us will never have the opportunity to buy it so why are people complaining about the price? It's of absolutely no concern to us. That's the bottom line. We can only appreciate/criticize it as a machine.

Its not about brands, Asian cars have always been inferior to European cars and this is unlikely to ever change. Technology is like *ss everybody has it even third world countries could make fast cars if they wanted.

I guess we'll see how the LF-A stacks up against its european rivals

I don't see indian or chinese engines being used in F1 :P

Actually my personal opinion F1 is just complete BS, but anyhow it is dominated by the italians (not the japs) and yes the others are coming although I don't understand why anyone should care about F1:

Did you just compare the V10 engine sound of Carrera GT to the Viper? Really? I hope you were joking...

Perhaps because it's the pinnacle of world motorsport.

I don't see Toyota in F1 anymore either. Shame that even after selling 500 LF-As at $400k they'll only have recouped a small portion of their F1 losses. Ferrari and McLaren on the other hand just win and sell better cars for half the price of LF-As.

Quartermile is right though. The use of technology is pointless unless it achieves better performance parameters and offers customers something above what can be achieved with low tech. That A-pillar on the LF-A is as about as much use as it would be on my pocket calculator.

At $420k it's an Asian princess with a crack habbit.
