New Ring time 7:14 set by LFA
Wow...that is a phenomenal time. The only Dodge product that I'd ever even remotely consider.

lol! Competition is always good. But is a $120k Viper really competing with a $450k Lexus (including 'Ring package).
I'm happy for both mfg's being at the top of the Ring leaderboard. The LFA has grown on me and I really like the looks of the Ring package on the monster that did that incredible 7:14 on normal tires.
Those ACR's are just beasts though. If the out of production, 2 year old Viper is this nasty you better believe the next model ACR will be a sub 7 sec monster.

If you consider a Radical or a Gumpert "production" cars you'd be correct, I suppose.
The only cars in the top 10 that I would consider actual production cars would be:
1. LFA 7:14
2. GT2 RS 7:18
3. ZR1 7:19.63
4. Viper ACR 7:22.1
5. Z06 Carbon 7:22.68
Barely road legal race cars are ultra-low volume and should have their own category, imo.

It is flawed in a way because technically I could have split the ACR's class into 3 separate ones, namely:
a) semi-slicks only with the GT2 RS as the leader;
b) strong aerodynamic downforce aids only with the Apollo as the leader; and
c) all of the above, in which case the Apollo still leads since it would only get faster with semi-slicks.

I always thought the general consensus was that PSCs and Corsas were semi-slicks?
Anyway I think most people generally differentiate between PSCs & Corsas and other tires.

. Nurburgring is also known for being a very high speed track so that's something to consider. Where a car may perform significantly well at 100+mph it may do poorly in comparison on a course that's average speed is 30mph under.
I'm not sure where this obsession comes from with a street car comparison on a notably high speed course. And then I'll come in with the clich'e "It's not like we can drive @ those speeds often on the street"
This is the way I see it.

Thanks for posting this! I really like the breakdown. Now if only there was a official classification to end all the non-sense it would be so much better.
Congrats to Lexus on this achievement, but I still think LFA is crazy overpriced. My main issue with the LFA is styling, it just doesn't look like a $400k car should. Put a Ferrari or Lambo next to it and there is no comparison, LFA looks like something out of fast & furious set. Same goes for GT-R, awesome car but ugly as sin. Spending so much money on R&D, you'd think Lexus and Nissan could've hired some Italians to design the damn thing.
