Macan renderings
For me personally it is no question which engine I want... Again the 313hp diesel, because it outpowers almost all the petrol engines except the upcoming Turbo and Turbo S. And I easily get 38-40mpg. It lacks the higher revs of a petrol engine though.... (Only downside IMO)
But I understand that Diesel cars aren't that populair in the U.S.?

I understand why he says it.
allthough i have to admitt that a Panny Turbo is a really nice car to drive!!! But the GTS also is a really nice car.Suzy991

But we will see, if pricing isn't too bad, might as well go straight to the turbo

Should be a 500HP minimum. Keeps the ice cream from melting (I learned that in a Mercedes commercial, so it must be true).
LOL... thats a job for the GTR!!!
Regerdless of what rumors say, I personally think that the Macan will be offered with the complete (slightly modified) Audi Q5 engine line-up except for the Turbo and Turbo S. They get the Porsche V6 from the new Panamera S, which replaces the V8.
I also think that they will offer all models, except the Turbo and Turbo S in a Diesel version, at least in Europe.
My guess:
Macan 2.0TFSI 4-cil 180hp (maybe only for Europe)
Macan 2.0TFSI 4-cil 235hp
Macan Diesel 2.0 TDI 4-cil 180hp
Macan S 3.0TFSI V6 280hp
Macan Diesel S 3.0TDI V6 250hp
Macan GTS 3.0TFSI V6 325hp
Macan Diesel GTS 3.0TDI V6 315hp
Macan Turbo 3.0 V6 380hp (Porsche engine incl. PDK)
Macan Turbo S 3.0 V6 420hp (Porsche engine incl. PDK)
Macan E-Hybrid 2.0 4-cil 245hp with 55hp electric motor.

Wow.... TBH, i think the 2.0T model would be most sensible model to get. For some reason, I love driving cars with a 2.0T motor. Some are fast, and some are decent, I've been driving countless number of EVO and STI in the past decade or so, the Golf GTI, just brought and sold a Focus ST, even my current 328i is brought solely becuz BMW developed a 2.0T, my up-coming A45 is also a 2.0T!!
From my experience with the last gen cayenne with the VW V6, porsche did absolutely a great job retuning the VW sourced engine. I'm not surprised if Porsche didn't retune the 2.0T engine. With an aftermarket chip, I think the 2.0T should be able to hang in with the V6 in the S model.
This car and the engines for me is in a really awkward segment. For emotional reason, I really want one. But I can't find a reason to justify buying one. I simply don't need a car like this. It was the same with the Evoque, but I don't have the same emotional attachment to the Range Rover brand. Especially this isn't a sports car.
