That side view comparison is VERY telling. It actually makes complete sense to me where this vehicle fits in (literally). I think it is a cool looking crossover. Anybody know which engines are going in these?

OK - it will NEVER happen, but I vote Porsche/VW/Audi should grow a pair .. take a queue from Nissan (meaning GTR powered Juke) and drop the Turbo S engine into the Macan!

I'd get in a queue if they offered the 5 cylinder turbo from the TT-RS.
If they get a clue and take the cue.

I think it looks great, I can't wait to see one in person and see if it's comfortable enough inside for a 6' 2" male

perfect car for the wife/gf!

This would be the direct competitor for the Evoque!

Except performance figures will blow Evoque out the door.

BillC is infamous around these parts
I've been thinking this could be a 3 series competitor. If so, I am in. Nice complement to 991 and wife's S class.

+1. But make it cost less than $400k. Nissan dropped the ball with this. And the Macan has an opportunity to pick up the pieces.

If they put a Turbo version of this, my wife (who LOVED the idea of the Juke R, and sorely disappointed when it wasn't released in the states) may switch to this.

There will be a Turbo S version of the Macan. The engine will be the V6 biturbo engine from the new Panamera S, that replaced the V8. It delivers 420hp and will be mated to a PDK. The "normal" Macan Turbo will get the same engine, but slightly detuned to about 375-380hp.

This was recently announced in a German carmagazine and normally they're pretty accurate with that kind of information. I think the Macan is gonna be a huge succes, given the fact that it will be based on the already very good Q5-platform and it's engines (except for the more powerful engines, which come directly from Porsche)

In lot of comparisation tests I've read, the Q5 comes out on top versus a BMW X3 as a "drivers"-car, so if Porsche will tweak that chassis to their specs, it only can get better IMO.

I can't really decide on the engine for this car....I'm probably gonna replace the P4S with the Macan. Since we also got a PGTS in the family.

getting a Turbo seems overkilled. I'm not a fan of the NA V6, the 2.0T seems too under powered.
