I don't know if I agree, I would say the rear legroom is almost but not quite as big as the 5 series..a standard sedan..

A 3 series and C series are much smaller...I couldn't sit in the back of my M3. I could sit in the back of my M5. My Macan has just a little but less room than my M5..maybe an 1"-2" at the knees.

i had all three comparisons with the front seat set to my height.

rear legroom and headroom was the decisioning point for me...once I cleared that i wrote the check.

The buyers will decide I suppose. I don't think the Macan will ever surpass the Cayenne in sales.
I think you're really underestimating Macan sales worldwide. The rest of the world don't have the luxury of affording either the size or cost of the bigger Cayenne. Total sales worldwide for Macans will exceed Cayennes by end of next year. By 2018 could double Cayenne in sales.

I guess I was never really thinking about worldwide sales. I would have to agree with your comment. The size of the Macan suits the non-US market very well. Sales of these crossovers seem to be doing very well across all brands.

+1 on docboy's test drive commnets

Drove an S with air suspension and PTV with 21's today. Very impressive on ALL counts. Porsche wil sell every one they make. Custom orders from my dealer would arrive in Oct. Will replace our A7 with a Macan Trubo. It is definitely not like any other vehicle even close to its category, which is why it is so attractive to us. The handling and styling are most definitely pure Porsche DNA. No compromises.

Agree drive two diff cars and both are amazing. After driving both don't think the turbo is worth the diff in pice IMO. I would be happy w the S. Maybe if someone ever cracks the encryption then a flash on the S turbo would level the HP Either way great cars. More 911 spirit and feel to them than SUV. Nothing at all like a Cayenne.
