I agree with this assessment re: 0-60 but my take on ordering the Turbo is that the 3.6 is going to be more robust for third party tunes vs the 3.0 so a lot more upside with the turbo. We'll see!

The main items are PSE (sports exhaust), PCCB (carbon breaks), and additional paint and interior (two-tone) color schemes. Minor items are surround view and things like that.

To me the main item I would wait for is PSE and I am "gambling" that I will be able to retrofit it later since Suncoast sells the PSE for every other current model and it can be retrofitted.

Not sure what soft cover book you're looking at but the book I referenced shows Sport Design Body kits and Mirrors, Running boards, 21" sport classic wheels, sport exhaust and much more. Nothing about Ceramics though.

I'm also being told some of these new options may even be available from October production now. Waiting to hear but going to wait.

S vs Turbo

Had the opportunity to test drive the S vs Turbo last weekend. The S (no sport chrono, 19's) drove well + smooth ride + good braking + responsive handling and was plenty fast esp compared to the competition (ie. X3 3.0 Msport, SQ5) but never felt "powerful". It was also pretty quiet; the PDK shifted at relatively low RPM's even on "Sport". Agree with another poster above- great car for the wife- but probably not enough cajones for guys here as a DD with a 911S, GT3, etc.

The Turbo had 21's + Sport Chrono (but no air suspension) and had, subjectively, way more "shove", esp with on "Sport Plus" which dramatically changed the shift points on the PDK- held much higher RPMS and transformed the driving experience. It also sounded significantly better. Surprisingly, ride quality did not suffer even on the stiffest suspension setting- which is a testament to how far PASM as come. Also, the standard Turbo adaptive sport seats felt much supportive than the regular seats on the S.

In the end, with all the extra standard options of the Turbo (bigger rims, PASM, painted side blades, adaptive seats, BOSE, etc) the actual price differential is about $10-12K for the Turbo which seems more than reasonable (imho)-

I have the Macan S and love it. My wife will get it after I break it in maybe. Ha Ha! Seriously though you get 90% of the full Macan Turbo with the S for $20 k less.

With me I'm working about a $10k difference between what I want on the S that is std in the Turbo. I would rather not go that high. What you are saying makes sense.
