Noticeable difference between S and Turbo?

Hey Guys,

I've only test drove the S for those who test drive both is there a big difference in performance?

The 0-60 times are really close. Just wondering if I should take the dive with Turbo.

Not sure what the s feels like , however if I had one negative about my turbo ..... It would be lack of torque therefore I would absolutely recommend the turbo.

Confused about what?........ Very simple if I have a turbo and it feels like I need more torque then an s would surely need more torque +horse power......... Understand?

I test drove both on Sat and the best I way I can answer this is that if the car were just for my wife I would get the S because the way she drives there is not going to be any noticeable difference between the two. The way I drive, PDK in manual to keep the revs high in each gear, there is a noticeable difference. Hope that helps.

I drove both last week. I agree if for wife S would be fine but it just didn't work for me. I've ordered Turbo but waiting for build date as I want a bunch of the Sport Design options being released in the fall and of course Sport Exhaust which is also fall release.

Test drove the Macan S and the turbo last Sunday, not very noticeable difference between the two up to 65 mph. The acceleration is very linear and not the type of thrust in the back to justify the $20k difference in my opinion. I went back and order the S less some options (pano roof, 18 way seat and premium sound system..) , with the weight savings maybe the 0-60 time will come even closer. But deep in my mind I still want a Turbo .Hope this help.

Very helpful! The 0-60 times are so close it's hard to think you would notice a big difference. Thank you for your insight!

The brochure shows some of these future options being available no earlier than Oct/Nov builds.

Dealers have a small, hardcover book entitled "Exclusive Macan"
Published in late 2013. Publication number is "WSL 91501000120 EN/WW" which shows all the upcoming items and approximate timing.

Concur. They have a soft copy of this that they showed me on iPad and it correlates to the info on porsche.com/usa that states Oct/Nov/Dec (depending on feature) availability "at the earliest".

The main items are PSE (sports exhaust), PCCB (carbon breaks), and additional paint and interior (two-tone) color schemes. Minor items are surround view and things like that.

To me the main item I would wait for is PSE and I am "gambling" that I will be able to retrofit it later since Suncoast sells the PSE for every other current model and it can be retrofitted.
