I think if you opted for the Premium Package Plus you would save money and get ventilated seats at the same time, since you're buying most of the features separately anyway. Try configuring it that way.

Personally, I would buy a black car and save the $690 for metallic black. I also see no value in crests in the headrests, or sun shades on rear windows unless I lived in a place like Phoenix. But we each need to evaluate these features based on our own needs and tastes. Glad to see you're moving ahead. I locked in my order on Thursday, with Sept delivery.

Thank you for the feedback Ken! I thought about black but my detail guy told me it's soft and pits???? He said go euthanized metallic. Call me crazy but I don't like the way ventilated seats look. I can't wait until October for the sport exhaust system! Even though I think I really want it!

Do you think I should roll dice and pass on extended warranty for $3,424?

Here is the configuration:
PFJVW998

I can't believe the paint is that different between black and metallic black. I though all the water-based paints are softer now than they used to be.

Yes, PTV was a last minute change. Decided that anything that might improve handling was more important to me than the pano roof. Coming from a 911 that handled impeccably in corners, I wanted to maximize the handling of the Macan. I thought a compass would be more interesting than a clock, and I believe the compass can display the time as well.

The Macan will be my 4th Porsche. I had a 05 C2S cab, a 07 Targa4S, and a 06 C2S cab over the past 7 years. All were fantastic cars. My next favorites were a 01 CKL55 AMG and a 05 C55 AMG.

Wow! So you really like Porsche. This will be my first. I'm looking forward to it! I've had 4 BMWs (X3s and X5s).

Compass in my '11 and '12 Cayenne Turbos do NOT display time. Might have changed in later years but just an FYI in case you are really set on a clock function there. They did change the PCM a few years ago to always display time in the bottom of the screen.

Thanks for the info. I'm not really concerned, although I thought the brochure said there were optional settings to allow digital time to be displayed there. If the time is displayed on the screen anyway, no problem. The sport chrono timer on my 911 didn't provide any useful info for me, so at least the compass provides some useful information for me.
