Macan Turbo PDK being replaced @ 7k miles

We ordered a Macan Turbo for my wife. It's her daily driver. She loves her Macan. I get it every so often. I had noticed for sometime a noise. After chasing down the noise I discovered it was coming from the PDK. I found when in manual mode changing between 5th and 6th gear with perhaps a 1/10th second delay, there is a "click" sounds much like an automatic door looking mechanism. It was 100% repeatable.

The dealer had my wife take the tech for a ride to demonstrate the sound. They kept the car a few days, I believe tryied to remedy the click with new software to no avail. New PDK ordered. Two days to arrive. Had to be in the states somewhere. Should have the car back tomorrow or Friday at latest. We aren't mad. Dissapointed ...yes. The Macan didn't lay down. The performance was great, it just had a funny click between 5th and 6th. Anyone's guess as to what problems, if any, would have came from the click if left alone.

I will post again here in this thread once it's resolved. Another Macan owner in Belgium reportedly has the same click. No word on how his fix is going. Last I heard the motherland wanted a recording of the noise so they could listen.

We love the Porsche Macan. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road that'll soon be forgotten.

Sorry you had this problem but it sounds like they are taking good care of you. How did it turn out?

Harpers Porsche in Knoxville TN did the work. The SA, Mark bent over backwards with updates 2 or 3 times daily. They knew it was a big deal to us and really tried to ease our hurt. The best news I can give is the Macan is just as before, without the annoying "click" between 5th & 6th.

The regional service guy said it was the only one he knew of. The Macan forum had another poster saying he had the same sound. Europe somewhere. Porsche instructed the dealer there to record the sound and send to them. I'd imagine porsche will have my old tranny operable on a workbench and find out what's up. Maybe future problems can be repared without the huge amount of work involved to remove & replace. We are very happy thus far with the service we received. We love our Macan and fight over the keys often.
