Hi...new owner

Just picked up our built to order 2017 Macan S. Got it yesterday. Traded a 2012 A6 Prestige with 50,000m and absolutely the best car we ever owned. A bit of a story how ended we up with the Porsche. Hate to admit...I'm a bit of a conniving con-artist. We looked at a Lexus NX F-sport. Liked it but not much off the list and trade appraisal was a cheap shot. I tell my wife lets go to an Audi dealer on the way home...(it's adjacent to the Porsche agency). Take her into the Porsche showroom...look at a Macan S...test drive..and here we are. Carrera White/ Lexor/Beige 14's. It's new and strange but I have good feeling about it. If looks could kill. Anyway look forward to comparing notes...getting to understand what button does what right now. Frank

BTW...it's hers but I'm the driver.

EDIT.... I realize I'm on the wrong forum...should be on New Members...mods/administrator please move to correct area. Thank you

Welcome and Congrat's on 'her' new Macan

Well played ending up at the Macan, I think you both will luv it. What are your initial impressions of it? And just as important what does your wife think?

Wife loves the beauty of it. Has not really driven it aside from bringing it home. We're away from home for a few days and the Mac is garaged. I told her my gut is she's going to really enjoy ownership. Will follow up. My impressions so far..... Nothing not to like. Will follow up. We also have a Q3 And X3... All different. All nicely done. The Mac is slightly tighter in the rear seating but we're a 2 person family. One small thing.... Fit and finish. Do these tend not to be 100%. The hood and panel next to it are slightly out of alignment. I showed our salesperson. I might Pm you with his answer. I don't want to flame anyone publicly. I do like the electronics and the map layout. I don't understand why Voice Control was not included... Not really a big deal. Bose Sound system should lower volume automatically when changing sources (iPhone iTunes to CD). I got a dangerous blast of music.
The side mirrors could be larger. My initial impression is ... I want to keep it in my den. I do not want to park next to anyone. It is an absolute master piece design-wise. The front end is modern art. I'm not a fan of Porsche. Never owned or wanted one. But the Macan changed that. Saw it, loved it, bought it. If something happens to my X3 I'm going in for a GTS. Thanks for your reply. Frank

As you will learn Nothing is free with Porsche. I am 100% surprised that they haven't been charging for the "new car smell" yet. I don't know what year your X3 is but I loved my X3 when I had it new back in 08. Nothing should be out of alignment it's a Porsche it needs to be prefect. Good luck with the new car! Post some pics. The Macan is one of the sexist cars on the road.

I would have paid extra for NCS (new car smell)if it were an option.
We're on the second X3 2006 to a 2014. The newer X3 is awesome.
Mac is the sexiest out there. What is nicer? Nothing. There is a lot to choose from. The Mac S was it. The 2012 Audi was our 5th Audi. We considered a 2017 A6 but wanted a change. 50 miles on the S so far. It seems to be one of those rides that is Day 1 every time it is driven... Or walked by in the garage.

I'd also pay extra for NCS LOL. I had the 08 X3 for two years and loved it. I went to a 328xi after that. I looked at the new X3 a few times but BMW has lost the hype, it's not the "it" car to have anymore. I switched to Audi after my 3 and never looked back. I love the 2017 A6 and even looked at the 3.0T one but it was way to much like my A4 for people to tell the difference. I could just picture one of my girls getting in it and being like "Oh you got another A4? It's really nice" LMAO/

I was on there but got a bad vibe from a moderator. He has the personality of the band leader from Whiplash. I'm ok on 6sd. Good bunch of friendly informative people here.

I really like Audi's. We looked at an S6. Wife did not like the seats she has a bad back. The RS's are superfine. I'd enjoy an S4. Looks like fun. We had 2 A4's
Perfect size for driving, parking lots.

S6 is really nice, if you don't care about people think. When I built a S6 online it came out to 92k, the fact is that most people will think its just an A6. It's the same think with the RS7, most people will be like oh what a nice A7. I know it should be about what you love, but I also like people knowing I spent 100k+ on a car LOL.
I looked at the S4 before choosing the A4, I wasn't 100% on it. I had an M5 sitting in my drive way at the time and I barely drove it. ( Over 1 year I think I put less then 200 miles on it, I only used it to get bagels on sundays) I love the A4 it was such a step up from my 328xi and its perfect. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I do understand what you're saying about the Macan forum they are kinda like ****'s over there.

A bagel run. Now you're talking. M's and A's. You know what good is.
About $100,000 cars. It's hard for me to do that. Can buy 2 nice rides for that much. So far the Mac is the most expensive yet and that's ok. I'm pushing 70. I'm living it up. I want my last check to bounce.

And not just any kind of bagels, NY bagels LOL. Live it up man! But by the sounds of it, you don't type your age lmao. 70 is still young, you've got manny more years! (Nock wood) But I agree 100k is a lot for a car. But remember you can always lease! Me, personally I'll make sure my last few checks bounce LMAO. Because when you die, the money you can't take it with you.

As for Matts I'd call your sales rep and complain about the body panels again. Tell him you may feel better if you have some matts.
