Here my 18 GTS 4/18 build date transfer case part #. With lots of these failing I heard sometime in early 2018 they developed a new case. Trying to confirm if this is a new or old case. Below I listed a part search I found. Not totally clear, maybe some can teach us and maybe some peace of mind for 2018 Macns,.

If you notice I have the A but no X at all???

 

I am afraid to ask, but what is the transfer case issue? How common is it? I am really thankful my Macan came with 6 years of warranty now that I am hearing about this issue.....

 

Pretty common which has n t made me happy, along with timing cover bolt leaks. I am trying to enjoy the car and have the CPO if needed.
Seems to be some question if the 2018s were fixed but I m not confident. I read that you ll feel it and will get bad enough that you can t miss it. Bucking, slipping.
The good news is a case replacement is pretty easy job. The A is the newer case a B would be older design. Again not sure if it will matter. Rumors state it is water getting in causing the issue. Fluid replacement at 20K might help but I don t see how if many have failed under 10K miles. Go on Macan Forum, it s a more active site for Macan. I plan on changing my fluid soon and I m at 13K miles.
