Any trusted mclaren ecu tuners out there?

Yes, using launch control... ZERO wheelspin. I think that’s the problem. At the 1/2 mile event it spun the tires hard through 1st gear... car pulled like a monster. At the drag strip, on PZero Corsas it won’t even eek out a tire chirp. Just feels suuuuuuper soft leaving at the drag strip. Very weird.

I do notice on the street if it spins the tires it revs soooooo quick to 8,500 rpms before it shifts but at the drag strip it seems to stay in gear a long time due to not building rpms as quickly.

Yes, that’s true. I have a 650S and it’s extremely finicky. 5k miles and it’s had a new transmission installed due to a leak. Yes, they replaced a $35k gearbox with 5k miles on it for leaking. If my car had been tuned, even though that wasn’t the problem, I’d have been taxed with paying that bill.
Evoms, when you flash back to stock can they not tell that car was tuned ??
I know that some companies can detect when the ecu was tampered with

I'm looking into getting a 570s but knowing that I don't have the guts to tune it has my looking into a 991tts where I know they can take the abuse and are not fragile , it just scares me . And just as you said had your car been tuned forget it

1st question is... why would you come on a McLaren tune thread and ask about a 991 TTS? 2nd question is... do you own both a McLaren and a Porsche? That’d be a cool stable. Check with Emre to see if he has anything available yet? I know it’s a fueling issue on the DI Turbos supplying enough fuel to run E85.

Ok, cool... I’ll go to the Porsche section of this forum post McLaren stuff. In all seriousness, check with Emre... he knows his stuff on tuning Porsche’s.

Mclaren has been getting better and better at designing and building cars. Definitely the newer you go, the better they seem to get in terms of build quality and the number of issues had. At the same time, my dealer always talks about the early build 12Cs with 35k troublefree miles on them too. Enough time has gone on that age vs. mileage definitely plays a role; the super low mileage cars are starting to have more issues than something with at least a few thousand miles a year on it throughout it's 3-5 year life.
In general, something like a 911 Turbo is definitely more reliable than a Mclaren. You can put 10k miles a year on one and likely have very few major issues for years and years, even with some light mods. I'd argue one buys a Porsche for much different reasons than a Mclaren though. The Mclaren is much more exotic looking, much lighter, and frankly much faster because of the power and weight differences. I would buy a 991TT to almost daily drive or take on long trips, and appreciate the combination of speed and refinement. I'd buy a Mclaren to marvel at it's speed and beauty.

Hey thanks for actually taking the time to reply to our posts , a lot of others vendors don't bother.
I allready have a 900hp 996 tt, it would be kind of silly I guess to get another Porsche to mod .. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a 570..
I'm
Not sure if this is true but someone had said that for 7k mclaren would tune the car and be under warranty , but I'm guessing it's bs

I haven't heard about Mclaren tuning cars, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I’d still be curious if my car would ACTUALLY run any better tuned?!?!! Big risk to take for what advertised gains are. If it’d launch better it’d almost be worth it to me, but I don’t know if I’m completely sold on that yet. Still in the research mode at the moment...

In your experience, what model performs better (straight line drag race) with your tune, the MP4-12c or the 570s?
#44
We have an in-house MP4-12C & 570S (both with Sport Cats/Supersport X-Pipe & Tune)- I'd give a straight line edge to the 12C.

I’m car 30... 60’ and ET speaks for themselves. All these YouTube hero passes, those cars are tuned without a doubt. Our temps today were 60* and great DA. Car still won’t launch for **** and only really pulls once it gets rolling as indicated by the 1/4 mph. Anyway... a tune and exhaust are in store for this car for sure.
