Cls550

Thinking of trading the Cayenne in for a CLS550 w/AMG package stickered @ around 75K. I don't really use the Cayenne's "utility" and I find the seats to be uncomfortable.
The CLS550 seems to be roomy with a nice sized trunk. The 5.5L engine seems strong...

CLS550 opinions?

I'm thinking Indium Grey with some black one piece wheels, maybe OZ Superleggera HLT's...

IMO, when I test drove a Cayenne TT, I found the front seats to be alot more comfortable than my CLS55. The CLS55 backseat is pretty much useless unless you are a very very short and small person. Trunk is good size. CLS has horrible blind spots. The active seat thingy annoys me. The distronic cruise control on the CLS is useless. The CLS55 motor is awesome. Interior is very user friendly.

As far as the $75K or whatever price tag, go find a used CLS55 or CLS63. $75K sounds pricey for just a AMG package.

Owning both the Cayenne and the CLS, I can tell you that the CLS seats are more comfy then the sport seats in the Cayenne. Athough I have the AMG, I believe the seats are different then the 550. I really don't think the CLS has blind spots, using mirrors is the key I would pick up a used 55 vs a new 550, the power of the 55 is amazing, and such a joy to drive.

The cost of a new CLS550 is way too pricey! Look for a used one, or better yet, take the advice of some of the fellas above and look for a used CLS55. You can get one for the price of a new CLS550, but with more power, not just the looks...

I totally love the CLS models! They look awesome, even the 550 is pretty powerful, and with the air suspension they are so comfortable to ride-in!

If cost is an issue: You can still buy new 2007 CLS models, but for a substantial discount. That might be the way to go. I may be able to help locate one, if you're interested.

Having had a CLS 500 w/AMG I can say they are sweet cars. But the room inside is kind of tight for a tall (6') driver and any passengers. I only sold mine because I got bored of the car. I never got board of the looks.

When shopping (if you consider used) be sure to drive a car ice cold. The early cars had issues with the 7-spd auto programming and it will shift so viloently that your starbucks will end up in your lap!
