Hey, I am thinking about leasing an ML550. I don't want to mod it much, just air filters and something to the exhaust.
How do the 550 engines sound? I haven't had the chance of getting to a dealership yet. I'd probably like to make it a little louder and throaty. Common on the SLK55 is a simple X pipe to replace a resonator. Does the 550, and the ML in particular, have something similar?

You can always delete the secondary exhaust and resonators for a nice tone. I'm sure one of the Mercedes tuners makes an exaust system to fill your desired sound.

 

If your looking for a little extra sound I would stick with a set of mufflers and maybe a resonator pipe if available. Since it's a lease, you may not be up for this but Kleemann offers headers which takes car of the sound for you and gives you a few extra horses that the mufflers or res pipes won't give you.
