Considering C55

My work is changing and I no longer will need the storage of my SUV so I want to get back into a sedan. My neighbor picked up an 06 C55 and it looks like a car I'd like to get into. I've looked at some reviews in the very slim free time I have and I see nothing but positive but I would like to know some real world info on it.

I'm looking at an 05 with 36k miles. Is this going to be a service nightmare or are these pretty solid? Anything I need to really watch out for?

I know there are other benz forums out there but I'd like to see the responses here first because my free time just doesn't exist these days

Thanx in advance!
Alex

If your looking at a C55....why dont you try and get a C63. MBUSA released that it will start at just under $54k plus D&D.

What's so appealing about the c55 is the great performance for the cost. It would allow me to have a great dd and still get a race car for the summer

If I end up getting the c55 and I love it I'll buy a c63 next year most likely. I like to change cars about every 10-12months which would be perfect for a pre-owned.

i have an 2005 C55 w/ almost 36k and i have not had any problems at all. it's been very reliable and a great DD.

i would definately recommend the C55 if u don't need alot of rear seat room or trunk space.

For $56k, you can buy a barely used E55 AMG, which is a much better choice IMO.

I agree with Tuskir, E55 then get your self some green filters, ecu and pulley package for a very thrilling daily driver.

Services are cheap and I had no problems at all. The market has tanked on them so you can buy them cheap. I ended up selling my 06 fully loaded with very low miles for 36k a few months ago-for reference.
