How do you feel about it? Performance? Transmission? Any issues?

 

I own one.

Performance: Great! In fact, considering it's cost and the fact it is a hardtop convertible, it is a great value. Accelerates fast and stops faster (without fade too)

Transmission: Great as well. It does very well as an automatic. Holds gears in turns. Downshifts are fast and correctly timed. I DO wish the manual mode was more responsive. It's best to simply leave it in S mode and let it do it's magic.

Issues: None for me.

That TR looked great. It's truly a timeless design as it still looks good to this day. Now, once you take a peak into the interior, that 'timeless' comment goes away.

 

SLK55 is a great car, its the best handling Mercedes and considering that its a hardtop convertible, its extremely light at only 3,400lbs (SL55 weighs 1,000lbs more ). However, I think its a little underpowered with only 360hp stock... it didn't take long for me to decide to install a kleemann supercharger along with almost every other mod available for around 550hp. Now its perfect
