Change of heart...
Change of heart...
I can't believe I am going to say this... But I think my next Aston Martin will be a Vantage V12S
I recently had a dealer offer me an insane deal on a brand new V12S, I never realized the V12S had that much trunk money priced into it, so I think it may be best to just go that route instead. For not much more than a V8S (and I mean barely any at all), I can get the V12S.
I drove multiple standard V12, the first was not the most positive experience, but the second one was a standard Carbon Black V12, but it definitely felt chipped and sounded like it had hi flow cat bypass as well. It was substantially faster than the first. Given how the V12S has even more power stock (and even more mod potential) I would rather go that route. A final Test drive of the V12S will confirm.
Also... I have a few automotive "bucket list" items I want to cross off. Owning a V12, & Carbon Ceramics are both on that list. I also plan on doing a ton of track duty in the car and setting up the car accordingly. I have already owned two V8, so to buy a third seems kind of silly I realized. The next Aston I get has to be a keeper, so I think I will get the 2016 V12S with the updated interior and add that permanently to my long term collection.
The days of NA V12 are coming to an end, I want to grab one of the last generations before they are gone for good.
Just my 2 cents...

So what did you drive earlier that didn't light your fire...DB9, Virage, Vanq? And why didn't they appeal? Power can't be the only reason.
I like your thinking about it being a keeper this time, but almost every car I've had I thought this too. Then they come out with something so much better I couldn't resist. Sold my V8VR after just 8 months!
By the way I think you're making an excellent choice. No-one knocks the V12S.

I have driven two V12 vantages and a DB9. The DB cars are just not for me, they are more GT that sports car. Gorgeous amazing cars, but just not me and definitely not a track toy. The Original V12 I drove was bone stock and the top end just fell off, it lacked that rev happy nature a I loved so much on the V8. The modded V12 I drove two months ago and it was a massive improvement, it made me consider the V12 again.
When I was offered the crazy deal on a new V12S, it all of a sudden clicked and made sense. It was the horrendous depreciation that always scared me away from the V12, but now that I know I can minimize most of my losses up front, I have reconsidered it.
Also, The original V12 was definitely more nose heavy, but I have heard that the V12S dramatically reduced that nose heavy feel and is much more agile and trackable. Also, the V12S has the ASM3 (which is the best of all their transmissions).
I have already spoken to Jerry @ Eurocharged regarding the project and we are going to try something unique for that platform, specifically on the transmission side to cure its greatest Achilles Heel: it's transmission.
The final reason why I want the V12S... It is the Top Dog, there is nothing better. (Yes there is the GT12, but I can easily make a V12S faster & superior for very little additional investment without all the goofy aero). 610-620 hp should be relatively easy

I think the question was...What did you change your heart from? What did you think was your next and top Aston?
Yes, the V12S is brilliant and I applaud all who want and get them. I'll be heading in the bigger is better direction on my next (DB/Rapide/Vanquish), but respect and praise to all V12S fans.

I spoke with the dealership and they "claim" the V8 Final edition will be the same price as a fully loaded V8S. According to that the new V12S I was offered is the same price basically.
