It's not the high setting, it's the standard setting. The car lowers itself gradually to reduce drag and to improve handling as speed increases.

He doesn't seem to think he got the raw end of the deal. His older brother and sister both drive Honda Civics.

And no, he will not be getting an AMG car any time soon. That E320 has averaged almost 21 mpg over the past 11 years and ~96k miles and he will probably end up ferrying his friends around in that car during his senior year in high school. He is pretty conservative (wants to become an econ/finance major in college), and likes the car for being a safe, reliable and relatively efficient ride. Plus, we put a decent stereo in it.
