C63 is holding its own for now - lets see what happens in six months...Audi's seem more luxury than performance per my driving experience of an S4.

agreed about the S4. I'm running carbonio intake, Milltek full exhaust and Revo tune in my B7 and my IS-F stock makes it look and feel like a Ford Focus in straights and twisties!

RS4 comes closer from what I could feel (right seat in friends car), but can't match the C63 or IS-F performance!

So I went to check out a fully optioned silver 09 C with the performance package today and the sales person wouldn't budge more than a couple grand on the price.

I bought my C63 last weekend at Mercedes Benz of Pembroke Pines down here in South Florida. There were three at the time. A silver one, and two black ones. I took the silver one and the sticker price with everything except the performance package was $67.4k. I got it dropped down to $66k.

Just yesterday I went to the dealer to get the car washed and detailed, and the two other black ones were already being sold. So C63's are selling down here...

Now I test drove the M3 and IS-F, and forget about it. After going around the block in the C63, I simply fell in love. I've always been a fan of AMG cars to finally own one myself...and let me tell you, even though it chugs up gas like a mother, more than an M3 and especially an IS-F, I really don't care.

As far as comfort, the seats in the C63 are amazing how they just secure me in and wrap around me. You feel as if though you're in a spaceship or something. And as far as performance, the car just pulls and pulls, and the exhaust tone is simply ridiculous.

Last night as a matter of fact I was on my way to a friends house when I saw a guy driving a beautiful looking Range Roger on 22 inch HRE wheels, and got next to me at a light, and gave me the thumbs up and to put my window down to tell me something. He said that he was next to me and heard the exhaust tone as I was downshifting and told me that it sounded sweet. He concluded by saying that he had just bought an IS-F and that it was the first time he had seen a C63 on the streets. He finished off by telling me that he should have gotten the C63 instead. As the light turned green I just took off as a way of saying "YEAH YOU SHOULD HAVE", LOL!!!

I guess it all comes down to each person's preferance. Some have driven Audi's almost all their life, so you expect them to go with Audi, etc...since that's what they basically like.

So I have no regrets on getting the C63. The torque is amazing and just next month I'm dropping off the car at Renntech to get the stage 2 ecu upgrade on the car with the cf airbox that is almost due to release. I can't wait to take it to the take and start hitting 11's in the quarter mile all day and all night.

I'm OUT!!!

Dude, you will be hitting 11's in your sleep....bone stock C63 can hit 12 flat all day every day on DR's. Love AMG M cars but hate the re-sale and reliability. Congrats!

I'm envious of you guys south of the 49th that got a discount. Us Canucks get nothing in terms of alotment. I ordered mine last November and now that's it's on a train somewhere in Canada, I asked my dealer again for a price break. Nada. They said they can offer it to the next person in line...I tend to believe my dealer (my track day buddy works there too) and this was the only dealership that had any available (the original purchaser left the country).

So it's MSRP for me. The only good news is that financing rates have dropped from 8.9% to 3.9%...that does make a diff.

nice, and those 5 points will save you thousands if you keep the car for 3-4 plus years!

i don't even know which is fastest of all (IS-F, M3, C63, RS4), but really...who cares! at this level its about feel.
C63 is the best car in class IMHO.

There is no dispute.........C63 is the king, IS-F next then M3 and RS4

If you're talking about feel in terms of driver feedback and feel around a track, the M3 is hands down the winner IMO.

not just driver feedback, but power delivery, engine sound, styling, interior, ride-handling, fun to drive, etc. you know, overall car.

if numbers were the only thing that mattered, we'd all be driving a Z-06

amg

Hey all- newbee here (to this forum anyway). Don't want to hijack this thread, maybe just derail it a little. I've been looking at pricing on used (OK, pre-owned) AMG's, and notice that, for the S class at least, the values drop precipitously as each model year passes. Now I see here that the reliability of the AMG's seem to be in question. What's the deal- why would they lose value so quickly, and are they that unreliable? I'd be interested in anyone's feedback based on their experiences with the marque.
Thanks, and I like the looks of this forum, from what I've seen so far.

EVERYTHING has had it's value drop precipitously out there.

I don't agree that AMG cars are unreliable. the Benz car on which it's based may be unreliable, but the AMG hardware is solid and reliable.

I've actually been on the hunt for a white E63 amg....mainly because I need a larger car to seat 5 but I agree with 8speed's comments completely on the IS-F. It's a FAST FAST car no matter how you cut it.

My top 3 choices were the: e63 AMG, then e60 m5 and the IS-F last. (Yes I know the IS-F is a smaller car but Lexus does not offer a GS-F yet)

I drove the IS-F back to back with the C63 and both equally fast on the butt dyno. I don't see anything the IS-F lacks to the C63 in terms of performance. Both have killer exhaust notes that are different but awesome in it's own way. The C63 has more rear seat room seating 5 and a bigger trunk ~ that's about it to me. Lexus NAVI is so much better to use and if you factor in Lexus Customer service, it's an easy choice for me.

It's interesting to note you can pick up a new 2008 IS-F for roughly $49k before taxes which is a killer deal over the C63!

IS-F vs C63, I'll take the IS-F

P.S. Does anyone know of good deals on 07+ white e63 amg's?

rk
