There's an sl65 black at the benz dealer on Wilshire in Santa Monica Ca. Beautiful black on black e.g. I'm not sure I like that they nixed the covertible hardtop. That is after all the trademark of the sl class. At well over 4000 LBs, the car is still a porker so I don't see why they didn't keep it a cab?????

I read that it's supposed to sticker at $320 K with about 200 cars coming state side. I called to inquire and the dealer said it was selling for $399 K ($79 K premium) with a total worldwide production of 70 cars. This is by the way the first one in the U.S if I'm to believe the sales associate.

What will this car realistically sell for considering the declining auto market? What will the total production number end at? With such a low production number, is this a collector or just a souped up sl class benz?

The sales guy is blowing smoke. This car is not even holding sticker. Go to the MB forums and you will get your fill of cancelled orders, changed production #s and cars for sale.

Just because it has a plate that says "1 of XX", that doesn't mean it is the first car. They all say that.

BTW does the fix roof provide rollover protection or does it still have the pop up roll over bar?

 

integrated roll bar, b pillar and back. If you move the carpet in the trunk you can see it. The car we sold was at msrp.

 

There's one at Walter's in Riverside, CA. They've had it there since early March.

They were totally bsing you.
