Quickest/Fastest SL55 at Famoso Track Event
Quickest/Fastest SL55 at Famoso Track Event
10.89 @ 127.51
Record run done at the Famoso event. I had two 11.0x runs early on in the event, but finished with four 10 sec passes. It has been a looooong journey with it's the ups and many downs but in the end it all worked out.
Huge Props for Serge@Hyevon for being very accommodating and working around the clock to get my car done on time for this event like he said he would. Having dealt with many installers/tuners for this car and my other cars in the past, I now know Serge is a rare asset in this industry. I would also like to thank Serge for helping me build my custom air intake when others said it was impossible which we will put the finishing touches on after the racing season.
Another HUGE prop to Jeremy/Travis@POWERCHIP! Jeremy is definitely the man you want to see for custom dyno tunes. Travis/Jeremy were also very accommodating in meeting my last minute request for a custom dyno tune (literally......the day before the event LOL)
I will post more photos & videos when time allows but this is what I have available for now.

Awesome runs. What mods do you have?
Thanks! I have the following mods:
Custom Air Intake
Custom ECU Dyno Tune
Custom C&R Heat Exchanger
Long tube Headers
3" Inch Exhaust w/X-pipe
180mm Pulley
82mm Throttle Body
Rear Reservoir Tank
I still have some cams to install but I am starting to run out of fuel on the top end. So I will have to hold off cams install until I fix the fuel problem.

Agreed on the reaction time, but reaction times was no where near any of my top concerns especially since I was not bracket racing and just trying to break records.
When staging I prep myself & car for the lauch to get the 60' down and I take off whenever I am ready
Below is the link to a youtube video of one of my runs filmed by someone else. As you can see I was in no hurry to leave the light, looks funny how I sit there but I wasnt ready yet.

Impressive runs!!
1.59 60 Foot time in a heavy automatic car is nuts!!
OT, did you convert the front end of your SL? I never knew they made a SL55 with the facelift. I thought they were all 63's.

Damn......... thats on hella of a fast M5 you got there. Agreed, several Merc's are inching closer and closer but have yet to beat your time. Any videos of your runs?
Correct, there are no post facelift SL's w/55k engine. I did do the "facelift" conversion to my SL.
Thanks!! The Fast Mercs are all 2 power adder cars too.. My little all motor 5.0L has only nitrous.. Going against these 6.3L and larger Twin turbo + spray Mercs..

When you say the fastest Merc's are all 2 power adder cars too, I am assuming you mean FI & Nitrous?
If that is the case, then it's not necessarily true. Here is one MB that's 5.5L V8 Supercharged NON-Nitrous run with an ET 10.66 w/1.51 60'. This car is only getting faster.

Here's another MB 5.5L V8 Supercharged NON-Nitrous run. ET 10.77 and this car has more mods to come as well.

I can imagine you are referring to the S600 MB that's V12 twin turbo & nitrous that ran an ET 10.58 but then again it's that's one big 4 door sedan pushing over 4,600 lbs. (drag times)
Sure every tenth of a second is a pretty big difference, but the first two above I mentioned are on boost only and still have more room for gains.
