Love the sound. I don't understand why the lableing is staying S63 AMG and is not going back to the S55 AMG...

I would assume because the car is putting out 563 hp, to keep the 63 badge.

just my 2cents.

+1 kinda throws the name/number moniker based on engine size right out the window?

Agree. they should name it 5.5 Turbo, like the 5.5 Kompressor.

It's going to be a 5.5 TT? I thought it was going to be a 6.3 TT... Wonder why they are going back to the 5.5? Any thoughts?

Purely a marketing scheme it seems to keep the 63 badge (don't hurt egos of MB buyers by putting a smaller number on the badge?) or just penny pinching accountants.

Future fuel mileage requirements and still able to make boat loads of power would be my guess.

There was already a 55 AMG and they probably don't want to look like they ar going backwards. But keeping with 63 is wrong. Even the current 63s shouldn't really be called 63s since they are actually 62s. I guess if they call it a 63TT I might get one.

That definitely has a twin clutch transmission in it. I think that is a first for MB, no?

The only dual clutch transmission used by MB is in the SLS. The other 63 AMG cars use the AMG Speedshift which is a 7 speed auto with a wet clutch that replaces the torque converter. And technically a turbocharger is a kompressor so they could go back to E55 Kompressor.
