Have you actually gotten behind the wheel of the R8 or CLK BS ? The reason why I ask is that these are not cars I would want to use as daily drivers. The suspension on the CLK BS is extremely stiff and teeth chattering especially on the roads up north I couldnt imagine. Also the CLK BS is far from mundane its a absolute devil and driving the thing you feel like the car just wants you to make a mistake so it can hurt you. Car scares me. The R8 is a more comfortable ride along with excellent Audi handling but couldnt imagine wanting to have that as my only car or have to get in and out of that thing multiple times a day(im not 20 though). I can't comment on the GTR bc I have never owned or driven one. I know you want to go big but maybe find a really clean G55 AMG that will be a blast in the snow and still turn heads and have the cool factor for a young guy.

Im guessing your 650i is modded since your a young guy post some pics when you have time would love to see it !

You bring up very valid points. myself being 24 im i guess you can say use to small sports cars as DD? the BS is much more of a brute than the R8 by far but by no means is it not a DD. You also have to ask yourself what is your commute? I mean for me its 20 miles all highway. Also the OP living in NY has to deal with snow. NONE of these will be optimal by far, but I have lived with a RWD E430 in MA for 6 years and while yes sometimes a bit hairy not impossible. the 6 series is much more of a GT car and you are giving up a decent amount climbing into any of these as a replacement. the G55 is a HUGE SUV though. I have a Denali XL which i use for work but its not something id have if my job didnt require it. the Audi with the proper snow ties CAN be used but that front end will not like it. the GTR i think will be a great logical choice but if your looking into this type of car as a DD you kinda already threw logic to the wind to a point.

You really need to go out and drive some cars and make your own decision. Why do you want opinions from people you don't know, have no idea what they drive or what their driving preferences are, and in most cases are offering opinions on cars they never have driven for any extended period of time if at all. I have owned a CLK63 BS as my DD for close to 3 years and have over 24k miles on it and live in the northeast. I happen to think its a great daily driver, its very easy to drive fast and I find it lot more comfortable and fun on a daily basis than any Porsche I have driven. So when people make comments about its bone jarring ride, or how its difficult to control, it really makes me wonder whether they have ever even sat in one or just prefer driving large sedans. The one caveat I have is that I won't drive it in the snow, but otherwise use it throughout the winter as long as the roads are clear. You might want to at least check out the Black Series forum on MBWorld where you will find people who have owned at least 2 of the 3 cars you are interested in and can give you an informed comparison based on real experience and not hearsay.

Another great example not to get the CLK BS is right here just look at what the owners are like

Do I drive the CLK BS everyday,NO. Can I,YES. Was my last daily driver a E55 AMG and was I invited to Daytona to drive the CLK BS in Daytona and did I,yes yes yes.

ET550 your worst than a politician just making random accusations about me based on my avatar pic. Im sorry I didnt fall in love with your CLK BS when I drove it but I stated that the car is a absolute beast. You should take that as a compliment. Let's get this thread back on track and hopefully you dont take anymore low blows at anyone bc they are not fans of the CLK BS Yikes

A bit insecure and sensitive are we? Maybe you should read my post more carefully. Nowhere did I comment on your financial wherewithal or make assumptions about your vehicles or driving prowess based on your avatar . Nor was I trying to single you out as opposed to generally questioning the value of the OP's question and the responses he was getting from people on this board. The point is that the OP has no idea what you (and I use the term "You" generically) drive, what you like to drive or what your opinion is based on, so therefore what real value is the OP hoping to get from your response (especially if your recommendation is a G55 simply because of the 10 snow days a year in the northeast). I simply tried to offer a response from someone who has actually used one of his choices on a daily basis in the northeast as he intends, but even then he should take it with a grain of salt because he has no idea what type of cars I am used to and what type of ride I like or whether I am 20 or 70. Lastly, I am not so insecure to care what you think of my car.

how about a low mileage 1-2yrs old, slightly used SL65 with extended factory warranty. they run less then $100k w/10k miles. Gives you everything comfort, power, performance, and convertible. You can raise the suspension if necessary for inclines.
