Indeed, but I'm sure the process just goes along with checking for codes and these don't get one with a bad pump. It drives great, and for the first couple of seconds you wouldn't know there was a problem until it heat soaks. I've been around enough cars and also verifying it at the dragstrip and with a Scangauge was what it took.

actually it will throw a code - insufficient cooling/excessive temperature of charge air coolant circuit. either way its 6yr old car, **** happens guys (specially with german plastic ) it'll heatsoak with a good pump to some extent like the 55 supercharged motors, hence why the aftermarket sells upgrade kits and the 65 black series and slr use 2 pumps and coolers.

You got the best of both worlds, a cool car and better yet a cool wife. I hope you also got the extended warranty with the car. Maintenace on these cars can get expensive. Im getting to the point where im having to get new brake pads for my Sl, do you have any issues with brake dust? Ive been doing some research and a lot of owners are going with the Akebono pads to minimize the dust. Cant wait till you post some pics

Fronts dust like crazy, just like my cayenne did until I went with a Porterfield pad. I'm not sure if they make anything for hte SL (I doubt it). I did get the CPO warranty extended for 3 years, so hopefully I'll be in good shape.
