Out of curiosity how many miles did you have on them when you sold them and did you buy them new?

I know lol, just like the other post... 18,000 miles is nothing... wait till your around 50k then come back. My E55 had a few issues in the beginning then the last 20k miles to 50k it was a nightmare. Most of anyone I know that has had a Benz hasn't had a ton of issues or trouble till they were around 40-50k+ miles.... like right when your getting out of warranty, why does that always have to happen then? lol

It's like the guys on the benz forums that lease their cars for 2 years and drive like 12k a year and say how reliable they are.... put some mileage on it then see what happens. Sure there are people with higher mileage E55's that are fine, then there are also a lot of others whom have had nothing but trouble. I know two people that are techs at Mercedes of Pompano and they also tell me of how many come in for issues, sometimes it's like a continuous flow of little things going wrong and then others have large issues.

All my cars had 40-60k on them excepty SL55 which had 28k drove them all for 12-20k range. Also none of them had warranty and never needed it. The SL55 is now owned by a best friend of mine with 45k he had one issue with the top which was resolved with 1hr labor at MB. The only real problems I delt with was a new super charger belt since they start to squeak and that's about a $26 10 minutes of your time fix. Also if you have a air suspension prob you can get them for 325 each simple install.

Is your CLS the one that just did the Texas mile? Jerry is a good friend of mine and i do his remote tuning and sale here in S Florida for Eurocharged. He told me about your CLS nice car! Said they only made one pass though due to brakes and that next time out should be closer to 180mph. We just did my best friends CLS55 down here and got 520rwhp and 575rwtq with every mod but cams on a 90+degree day.

I do agree on having a warranty at minimum..otherwise go for it.
Looks real dated already in my opinion, but if it was me i'd for the for 63 all motor later models.

Yes its was at Rage Tech in Fort Lauderdale where we always have our dyno days. There was over 25 cars that showed to get tuned that day. A stage 4 Renntech with 20in HREs put down 510-515 and 550ish tq i believe it was. I miss spoke the CLS55 put down 535ish rwhp and 575rwtq this was on a dyno jet. But for instance a stock 55 puts down 390-420rwhp on this dyno. The CLS is still in the tuning process to get to the perfect tune with the large injectors and assortment of other mods on the car but the numbers are still lower they would have been if he didnt have 20x11s on the rear with 295s which eat up some power on the dyno.

Thats awesome, i always feel my car is down on power when people post Jet numbers Im having ported heads installed ,a rear tank and a re-tune now. I hope she puts down north of 600 on a dyno jet *i think* my 508whp translates to about 589whp on a dyno jet

Always wondered why AMG ditched the blown 5.5 for the 6.3 n/a. Make's you wonder what the issues were. Now they're back with a 5.5TT. So what's the thinking there (gas milage). Force induction is great but it does stress the motor out a bit more. Although I prefer a blower than turbo's, there is no replacement for displacement.

The same motor with a turbo will make more torque more horsepower and reach its target boost quicker. Turbos trounce superchargers.
