Hello all! I have recently been looking for a new car, and I was so sure it was going to be a Porsche 911. But to cut a long boring story short, I ended up getting a CLS 550 instead! Here are some pics! (Dealer took these) (I dont have a quality camera)























And heres a pic of my receipt in case anyone has reason to believe my story is fabricated. (or at least this is all I could find for now, I had to sign wayyyyyy more papers that I would have liked to...)




Anyways I am pretty happy with this car. Although, I still long for my P-car sometimes...Mercedes is not foreign territory to me though however. My mom drove a E320 in 97 so did my grandma, now my granny drives a ML she got in 04 and my moms riding in a 08 E350. My first car was a Porsche Boxster, if you cared to read my former posts you would have learned it was tragically lost in a wreck I had 2 months ago. I walked away from that total loss without a scratch, which made me like that much more loyal/impressed with the brand. Anyways I am pretty happy with this car, but im not sure if I should have dished out the extra dough for the 63 AMG version...I also feel I kind of abandoned my Porsche brothers and turned coat to another rival German house...still I love this car though!

So hi guys! I use to lurk around on the Porsche and 997 forums, but I think I will make this place my new home!

busy day tomorrow! the brakes squeek a little have to get that checked, and i have to get my new tires put on! also have to go get my stupid EZTAG sticker, forgot about that already ran 2 tollways today *#$&)@&$*( -_-

So you couldn't find a 997 in your price range, so you bought a used MB that has squeaky brakes and bald tires?

Not that I couldn't find one in my price range, i couldn't find one that I thought was "fair". My previous posts people said I "lowballed" the dealers. I still agree to disagree, my offers where not low. I was not going to pay that for a base 911. 56k For a 2006 base carrera that isnt even white? No thanks. I dont care for resell value much, resell value is for people that buy new, I want a car thats already rock bottom so I wont lose much money on it. This benz was 90k sticker, I got it for 45% off its only 3 years old, with 13000 miles. Why would I let some "stealer" rip me into paying 55k for a car thats only worth 75k new being 5 years old? Dealer also threw in 4 new tires, and gave me a 4 year extended warranty for the price of 3 if you google "cls squeeky brakes" you will find quite a few threads about it, only cost me 120 for 4 pads.

I just dont get why your trying to rain on my parade Axxlrod. I bought a Boxster when I was 18 years old working as a casheer. I bought this CLS when I am 22 with my own money working as a manager, give me a f'in break why cant you just be happy for me.

 

I almost stepped down to a 335i since none of the 997 C2S with Techart upgrades were listing for less than $50k...soon as I took my eye of the pcar, one sold exactly in that range, so I'm back on the hunt...enjoy the Merc.
