Thinking of switching from 997.1 to '08 CL65

As the title suggests, I am thinking of switching from a 997.1 to an '08 CL65. Obviously there are a ton of major differences between these two cars, they are completely different animals. Since I am not sure that I will be able to drive the CL65 before purchasing it I wanted to ask and see if anyone else has made a similar switch and if they were satisfied or found themselves wondering if they should have bought something like an R8 or a Turbo. My biggest concern is that I am going to feel that the car handles too poorly. I don't ever get to a track but obviously enjoy taking the 997 on back country roads. That being said I am drooling over the idea of >700 lb/ft available at 2000 RPM. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

You will definitely miss the handling of the 911. Why don't you test drive a CL63? The suspension I would assume would be the same, just different motor. You'll love the torque but miss the agility.

Drove a 2010 CL63 today and just as you predicted, my second thought was that I was really going to miss the 911 in the curves. The first was that the car is even more beautiful inside and out that it shows in pictures. There is gobs of power, too much to put down on the road at speeds < 30 mph it seems. The traction control light was always flashing. I really liked the car but its no replacement for a sports car. In the end I think it just can't overcome the physics of being so massive. If only I had an unlimited budget, I would definitely get both!
