C63 coupe, smallish tires? Dynamic? Quality? trackable?

I'm bored of my S4. It is a good enough car, but not a fun car I dont drive it a lot. I also have an 510 hp SUV and a two seater summer car.

Looking for a car that is fun, trackable and a DD.

The c63 seems like it might be a option. At least one to consider:
I like the monster engine.
Love the exhaust note.
Looks are a bit tames.
Great seats, average interior compared to Audi.
The rear tires appear to be really small. Can they be increased? How wide a tire/rim as the car has severe traction issues?
Can it be tracked, mor does it become a drift machine?

Looked at the M3. Very nice, but over priced and soon to be replaced.

I like the new TT RS. Looks great with the right package.
Very fast and very tunable (chip, Haldex remap etc)
Interior is nice, but small. Can a kid even fit back there?

A used 911S (997), is likely the holy grail.
Sporting, but not too flashy.
Perfect for DD and perfect for the track.
Had a Boxtser S for a few months this summer. Great cars.

But, they are overpriced. Or, at least they are too pricey for the little bit of driving I will do with this car. My other car is an Aston, so i already the 'expensive middle aged guy' car thing covered.

The Merc gives me more utility (though less than the S4).

Anything I have overlooked?

I think you covered all the bases, but I just don't know if the C63 is a decent track car without additional suspension tweaks. I'm not an expert at all, but I go to track events and see the 911's run circles around the few MB's that I see out there. Mercedes-Benz unquestionably makes outstanding passenger cars and the C63 would make a fantastic street car - I just don't know if it would pass muster on the track. Overall, it might be the best compromise.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Not sure increasing tire size will be a benifit if your looking for a 'fun' car.....

fun but not smart

I love that this car has character and emotion. But I do think it needs a bit more rubber. There has to be a happy medium, no?

My Vantage is a lesson in the balance between numbers and experience. My best friends R8 V10 is faster, but it feels faster in my car.

That said, I don't want to just be shredding tires.

So, I drove the c63 this morning. Wow, they did a fantastic job. In person the car has much more presence. The black on red looks fantastic.

The exhaust note is great. The power comes on very strong, this car will pin you. Muscle car fans will approve.

Public streets meant we could only push so hard. But, the handling felt tidy. It's no Porsche, but it did make my S4 feel very numb.

Site lines are fantastic.
Brakes felt great.
