can anyone post a pic for me highlighting the difference between the 2 colors?

I ordered a black Sclass and now the dealer says the one they got in is obsidian black. Im about to get very irritated.

I have an Obsidian Black E55. Best color IMO.

Obsidian Black has metallic in it and Black is just Black.

if you ever owned a blk car, you would never want a jet blk again.
PITA to keep clean.
obsidian is a perfect compromise.

 

Black is solid black and obsidan is metallic black.

 

The black in pictures looks classier to me - its just solid and in showroom lights looks outstanding - either way though Im sure its a pain to keep clean. My viper is solid black and my Inifiniti is a metallic black - and they are both high maintenance! Let them sit for a day and they have dust cover!!

 

My GL is Obsidian Black which is metallic black. It looks like black most of the time except in direct sunlight. There is so much metallic flake in it that it looks dusty. BMW has a metallic black which is pretty close and I believe it's darker than Porsche's Basalt Black. If you have never had a straight black car, you don't know how much of a headache you are in for. If you have had straight black, then you know exactly how hard it is to maintain a black car. Obsidian is the perfect compromise and metallic black is 10x easier to care for than a straight black car.
