I thought the same...anyway I don't know if the 63 driver did a good start as well.
But considering the AMG torque, even if it's less than before, it could have won.

AeroTT is infamous around these parts
Even if E63 lost in acceleration, it still wins in the looks category in my book. I think the M5 is hideous

Exactly what I was thinking...looks like the E63 starts a good second before the M5 takes off

MB always look good, but they handles like crap and have numb steering...And to me the E class looks dated...I love the looks of the other MB though. (CL, CLS, S,) They're made for 50+ years olds and it shows..No offense, but its true, MB has never made a drivers car, look at what they did to the SLR..was a huge rift between MB and McClaren when it was built, McClaren wanted to make it lighter and more sporty ala carrera GT...Ultimately the deeper pockets of MB won out..SLUSH box...come on!!

I love MBs but your right, they are the ultimate cruisers but not sports cars to say the least. Although what they lack in steering they make up in power, but I wouldnt make that trade. Both the M5 and the E63 are masterpieces in their own right, it all boils down to taste. Hopefully down the road they may come up with a new Bi-turbo for the E class when its updated in 2009.
