Brabus Exhaust

Last year I almost bought an Eisenmann Race exhaust but you all convinced me it was too loud.

I now have an opportunity to buy a Brabus exhaust (pre-owned) at a price well below 50% of original price. Any opinions? How does it sound compared to other systems? Any performance gains (or losses)?

The point is that I don't keep my cars very long and I don't feel like spending $3K+ on an exhaust system.

Yeah, you have a point. Really, I dont know what to reccomend them as most of the exhausts are expensive.

KompressorKev is infamous around these parts
from what i've heard and seen on various MB, brabus exhausts are generally not that loud, and the affect on performance is negligible. a nice sportier tone, but not a big boom. generally, they're expensive, but at 50% off, might not be bad. i think they're more aesthetic than performance or sound.

a cost-efficient way might be to take out the secondary, rear cats and perhaps the resonator (not sure if e55 has resonator, like c32 does), and that would free up some money to be allocated to other mods versus spending 3k on mufflers. i think an inexpensive custom job of replacing rear cats + resonator w/ straight pipes (but retaining factory mufflers) could allow you to spend the cash on headers, which should be a nice improvement over stock.

Next question is:

Is it a full exhaust? Headers, H-pipe with cats, resonators, rear mufflers and tips?

IMHO, it is probably just mufflers and tips.

If you like the look go for it.
