Proof that Mercedes stinks
the paint holds up great in texas. I dont think it matter what you drive if you drive over snow and salt something is bound to rust. Haha, enjoying your window tint lol. dont roll the windows up and down to much or your regulators are going break
I think the best question is... Did the car save your life? build quality and w/e esle may not be at its greatest. but safety is something few other car brands come close to rivaling. the Electronic brakes on your old e-car sure help the distances.

FWIW, I had an '02 E55 and '03 E55 - both that saw Chicago winters, salt, etc and I sold them both with around that mileage. Never had a rust issue. Had other MBs as well, all 2002 or newer, really had no issue with the paint. The cars now have ceramic paint so to be fair I think the rusting issue would be moot.
Just my $.02

Even more interesting - this car has 6 years left on the rust warranty, but apparently this is something else.
If this is how it looks on the outside, I can only imagine what the parts that I cannot see look like. I would much rather be in a Mini in case of a crash than any Mercedes. Who knows, the entire front of the car may as well fall off at the next speed bump.

In their defence, my 2005 W211 has (had?) no rust.

Never had any problems with any Mercedes I've owned even the 5+ year old ones. Sorry you had bad luck with Mercedes. I know of several owners with well over 100k miles on the old E-Class body and the cars runs just like new and look it too. They happen to take very good care of their cars as well. Happens to owners of every car make whether its a Porsche, Toyota, etc. Just the wrong timing for you and Mercedes probably.
That's no good. Like many others I think I will always have a soft spot for AMG's though. I don't think I would be very interested in anything Mercedes specifically unless it is sporting the AMG badge but that's solely my opinion.
