Proof that Mercedes stinks

Had my E500 T totaled this winter (awaiting verdict on case any day now) and this is the loaner I've been stuck with since.

This is a 2002 or 2003 (not sure) Mercedes E-class with 48K miles. And this is exactly why I will dedicate the rest of my life hating MB cars made after 1992. Can you believe this?

Could have been in an accident and had some crappy repair work?

There's rust everywhere, and I mean every-where. These are just the most obvious camera-friendly spots.

It's almost laughable. Look behind the star, it's creeping up there too.

Absolutely horrible..perhaps the E-Class was a wrecked one that got repair or do you think that is the original paint and body?

Original paint and body - or whoever did the repair paint-matched perfectly. I've never seen that done perfectly on a silver car in my life.

No, this is supposedly a manufacturing error that MB chooses not to aknowledge...

Know what you're saying Jox. We've had a range of different Mercs in the family for the past fifteen years. First very ones, and the latest are holding up well. The ones in between have had worse paint and body than a 600 pound bodypainted walrus..

No, I'll never get one.
Yes, the family is ridiculously brand-patriot.

I guess I am spoiled after a bunch of Audis. (The B6 S4 had ridiculously awesome paint by the way).

Oh well, this is what I get for cheating on Audi with a W211 wagon for a few months over the winter season - I am stuck with a W210 that is more brown than silver. At least the windows are tinted so they can't see who's driving the hooptie.

I really feel that Mercedes has gone down in the quality department in comparison to BMW or Porsche.

Weren't you considering an SL a few months ago? You know, they are MB's too
Now, just go ahead and buy a 997 so I can be seen in public with you.

First question, who the **** gives you a loaner car that is 5 years old?

Second, yes, Mercedes has recognized the issue, and when going to the dealer, coverage is on a case-by-case basis.

Nope, and I probably won't get any either. I've been fighting this since it happened but apparently I'm somehow at fault for being rear-ended. And on top of that --excuse my french-- those motherf*cking insurance d*ckheads had the nerve to send me a bill today for increased premiums.

They don't even have a loaner policy - I had to start trouble and make a huge scene to get one... and it's not exactly free.
