FS: Sharp XR-1S DLP Projector
FS: Sharp XR-1S DLP Projector
I've had this for a couple of years, and made college football Saturdays extraordinary. PERFECT FOR MARCH MADNESS!!!. It is still in perfect condition since I only hooked it up to watch games/movies and then stored it back in it's case until I used it again. It has the following inputs:
1) Type B USB
2) Computer/Component
3) S-video
4) standard Video input (yellow)
Also has an 3.5mm audio input for the little speaker in the projector. I guess that's good if you actually use this thing for "presentations". I never used it however, I just had the audio go to another source and input the video into the projector.
The bulb has a total of 1605 hours on it and it says 52%. I'm not sure if this means it has run for 1605 hrs or if it has 1605 hrs left, but with the 52% I'm just going to go ahead and take that as it's at its half way point. The bulb is rated for 4000hrs, but I used it a fair amount on the highest output for the "best" picture, but then I discovered that the "economy" mode picture is about the same, so I've been using the "economy" setting ever since. Just to give you an idea of how long this should last, I've had it for four years and used it at least a couple of times a week for at least a couple hours each time and it's still going strong.
It doesn't have an HD component or HDMI input, but it does have a great HD picture. I use a KWorld TVBox 1440 External TV Tuner which has a YPbPr input and then put the computer input to the projector and it worked awesome. You can see it in the pictured below. You can get one of these for $25-50 if you want to use HD.
Here's an excerpt of an ad about it:
"Offering both a "standard" operating mode (1100 ANSI Lumens) and low-power "economy" mode (940 ANSI Lumens) enables the Sharp Notevision XR-1S to meet the requirements of most any room or application. The low-power mode provides a lamp life of up to 4,000 hours with low fan noise and low power consumption, and ensures the XR-1S is both exceptionally quiet and economical to operate."
I can't find any prices on eBay or the web to see what the "market price" is, so I am going to put up what I think it's worth and if anyone doesn't think it's fair, offer me a price and we'll see what I think. I paid around $1,500 for it new, and I thought I got a great deal on it - this is one great machine. Here is a link showing one for $225, but it's a refurb and out-of-stock/unavailable. Mine has been in my possesion since new and taken pristine care of. http://www.consumerdepot.com/product...referer=google
Here are some pics of it, as well as it operating. Forgive the quality of the pictures. These were taken with my Blackberry because I don't have a digital camera and they do not show how great the picture quality actually is.

ESPN HD: These images make the video look blurry, but it's not - that's the people moving around a lot and my crappy Blackberry camera. You can check out the bottom and other stuff around the screen. I just couldn't get a good picture of it...

I know this might be wishful thinking, but I am looking to sell this to finance a PS3 and some games and stuff - so if you have one you want to trade, let me know and we can work out a deal.
