Any SoCal guys into collecting expensive longboard/surfboards?
Those look like some great boards. I served a surf/apparel client in Orange County and I'd imagine a lot of them would be very interested in the collection , either personally or for their offices...my contacts with them aren't great now (it's been awhile), but PM me if you're interested...
Dave, I actually never looked at this topic, and I think I might have a few older surfer friends who just might be interested in something like this. I will forward this to a few people, and let you know.

curious, as who shaped these boards. I am in the custom surfboard business and design and shape for many different shapers. I have never seen or heard of this label, in what way are they collectables? artwork? I recently shaped a bunch of custom balsa boards with artwork for wyland in hawaii.
Hi Oak, Marshall Madruga shaped the boards, and he's the gyotaku artist as well. His artwork was featured on Reyn Spooner shirts and he's been an ocean life preservationist and artist for some time. The artwork in these boards were his originals, not silk-screened repro's, and there were only a handful like these ever sold. He stopped producing surfboards in the '90's, wasn't a fixture at ASR, and never had a high volume surf industry presence, more of a west coast art presence, which is probably why you've not heard of him in your circles. These are unusual and rare local artist pieces, not something like finding an old original surf brand that now has mass market presence. Marshall was a typical artist, hard to deal with, didn't like to be directed by investors, wasn't a polished businessman, kept things small and under his control. Rare guy, great artist, dedicated waterman in many ways.
Wow, balsa boards for Wyland...I'll bet those are beautiful pieces.
You probably would've loved some boards I saw at the AWFS show in Vegas over the summer--an exhibitor of high quality wood lam's had an entire booth full of georgeous exotic wood lam boards. Not the same as the solid you shaped, but man, were these things amazing to look at. They had a world-class hotrod with sultry wood lam's in and out as well.
