WTB: Mont Blanc Rollerball Pen
WTB: Mont Blanc Rollerball Pen
as the title says, I'd like to purchase a Mont Blanc rollerball, or more specifically a Starwalker, Franz Kafka edition or perhaps just a Meisterstuck...i've already gone the e-bay route and that did not turn out well. Please e-mail me at szybalk@mcmaster.ca
Cheers,

just wanted to note: i had a MB rollerball meisterstuck and they are a POS.
u drop it on the floor and it cracks in half. I never dropped mine but read a lot of horror stories about that happening.
go with a mid range MB

i've dropped and broken/cracked severak mesiterstuck pens and all you have to do is take it to a MB dealer and they will replaced the broken part. sometimes i've been charged $30 or so and sometimes it's free. i haven't figured out what their policy is - maybe just varies from store to store?
i need to buy 2 burgundy pens and one black one so if anybody can refer me to something - mucho rep

i have the Kafka as well as many other MBs and love them. the limited edition ones are harder to come by (Kafka, Cervantes, etc) in a store. for most other models, try other shops that carry MB other than a montblanc boutique. they usually discount if you buy something else.

body/cap are made of a reddish resin. it looks great under light. slightly unwiedly and doesn't fit well in a shirt pocket, but gets more than a second glance every time!

stopped by the MB store today and picked up a few things, including some for me
They pulled a Kafka out of the back for me but it was a fountain pen and I really wanted the ballpoint so no luck - they said they quit making the ballpoint a yr ago but they're checking for me.....they hinted it would prob not pan out

I've now owned mine for over 5 years now, no problems as of yet.
I actually bought mind locally but then I bought 5 more on ebay so I could keep them on my desk without worring about someone walking off with my real one. Funny thing is that none of them grew legs so I still have 5 fakes and my one real one...

I have a number of MB.s including "daily driver" Meisterstucks - they're fine as long as you don't abuse them - same as any other pen. If you do have a proble, and MB dealer will make it right, no questions asked. My favorite are my two Jules Verne "Writers Editon" pens. I bought one as an investment and one to write with. The Writers Edition (which the kafka is a later editon) are a sure thing for appreciation. The Agatha Christie has appreciated quite nicely.
But, like Porsches, these pens should not be purchased as investments but rather simply because you get enjoyment from their use. Go get a MB Rollerball - buy it from a dealer to avoid a good fake, and enjoy it. If you want a good fake, go to Hong Kong - the ones at the night market are so "real" a dealer might be mislead. Most of all, enjoy.
