i have a brand new 20GB ps3, japan version. Does everything the US does, except play US DVD's (region 1). Plays all games and all blu rays.

I'm in the bay area too so I can meet up.

Japanese version PS3's cant' play normal DVD's?? THe main reason I"m buying a PS3 is for Blu-ray but I'll also want to play normal DVD's so this may not work...

To confirm, I can not play any normal DVD with this version correct?
