Open Track Interest? Summit Point Friday At The Track Schedule
I'm also in if my back is fixed by then. So far, it look like this:

You're from england and worry about rain?
just kidding...
my brother lives in New Castle and that place is wet 300 days a year as far as I can remember. :-P Anyway, event won't cancel because of rain. But, you can still cancel if you decide not to go but have to pay some fees. I believe it's depends on the club that you run with. But, rain = fun tho. In my opinion, I think you'll learn the car control 101 so much more in the rain than in the dry. Many disagree and it's a debatable subject. Just my two cents. Don't have to take it.

Also, Paul Alexandre is a very good instructor at FATT track days. He's on here but don't post much. Very cool and knowledgeable instructor for any cars with engine behind the driver. Jon Winter is also pretty good at summit. When you sign up (or, in the morning when you arrive at the track), you can request the lead organizer or whoever doing the student-instructor pairing to assign you with them. Just posting this out for first timers.

hahahaa Datax you crack me up bruv.
I love rain so long as the weathers warm, it's the Toyo R888's that I'm concerned about.
We'll meet up at the next meet, hopefully late May early June, by the way that pic looks wicked.

I am getting the itch to get on the track more often this season. I am registering for 2 open track events in June. Summit PCA DE, and Watkins Glen PCA DE. Looking to get more of you guys out on the track with me Chris and Ken, if we can get his back worked on and him back in the drivers seat.
If it will take baby steps to get you on the track then start here at Summit's Friday at the Track (FATT). One day, $250 +/- many instructor driven runs. Fridays. This seasons schedule is here. With enough notice, I plan to hit up a few of these this summer, and will redirect my dates if some of you want to go up, but just not alone.
Once you do an open track session, you won't look back at the all day parking lot cone chasing. I still like to do cones when time permits for the quick fix, but nothing beats open track.
FATT schedule and info.

I am in the exact same boat. Not really into thrashing my 996, so I bought a throw-away car for this same reason. However, with PCA behind this specific event, I am inclined to run it because of the experience of the P car instructors.
As far as the instructor running the first few laps in my car, I too would have a problem with that. I have run at Summit before and have done SCCA for about three years now. I don't think I need driving 101. If he is just showing me the lines then ok, at a reasonable speed. Otherwise. His insurance better be up to speed to replace in kind.

DE event Saturday and Sunday 6 & 7th.
Open to all cars. I saw over on e90 they are looking for drivers and instructors. Must not be getting the response they had hoped for.
