Got clipped in an intersection. Low speed. Honda only had minor damage to headlight and bumper. He bent my axle and crinkled my quarter panel.

Hopefully the driver is insured. First step is to contact their insurance carrier (and yous) and open a claim. Have the account of it well-sorted before you call - as the claim call is often recorded.

Everyone is fine, no bumps or bruises. I will let the ins. co. battle it out. I just want my car fixed right. The first time. I do have a good client comment about Mile One with the exception of the amount of time it took for the exact same type of repair.

Now, is there any other place I should be considering for this type of work? The bumper repair took 2.5 weeks a year ago. Can't imagine they will do this work in 2.5 weeks. Anyone?

Scott... I get all my work done at Euro Pros in Gaithersburg... I've known the owner for a long time... They do great work but like all Porsche shops, they are slowwwwwwwwwww.

SON OF A *****!!!!!! Scott - I'm sorry to hear that happened. I'm not driving this car in rush hour anymore.....Too many close calls. I got rear ended at 5MPH a few weeks ago in the Volvo and almost beat the living **** out of the guy who did it b/c he wasn't paying attention and had expired Insurance. If that was the PCar, I'd probably be writing you guys from Prison right now....hahaha.

Try out HBL (I have not had them do work on my car paint wise in the past b/c they were way more expensive, but heck, they do Porsches). They have a body shop behind their service side of PCar. Far from you, but getting the work done right the first time is right.

From what my agent told me, Mile One will just get it done. I most likely will not see the numbers, etc. I will be calling tomorrow as I want the front bumper and hood repainted so I can clear bra the car. After the run with Mario, Chris, Dave, et al. My hood and bumper have too may rock chips to repaint annually. Hell, may as well get a fresh coat all around.

I was rear ended a few weeks ago and I had Collision Works do the repairs (thats who Tischer Mile One owns and will use). Their work was OK; the paint matched perfectly. It did take almost twice as long as originally quoted (4 days vs 7 days) and I had to constantly call to get an update.

Long story short: quality = good, service = bad

I wouldnt worry as much about how long as I would how good is the job. It will be excruciating waiting but, better it take 2 months than hate the work for years..

Oh yeah its not up to your insurance to tell you where you get it done. You have the right to take it where YOU want it. They may try to fight it if its expensive but, too bad...I have been through a few insurance claims in my day.

OK, I will use this as my open forum to track the progress of the repairs.

1. 9 days sitting in tow lot because they only have 4 lift, and vacations are overlapping, etc. Still has not been lifted even to investigate the extent, much less the parts which could have been on order this whole week. The tow lot and even out front was packed with cars. Much different from when I was there a year and a half ago.

2. Rep made a statement that after they assess on the lift, they send it out for the suspension work. I am dying to know where it will be going if they don't do anything but the paint work there. Will most likely get sent elsewhere for any motor/axle work.

3. I am expecting 4-6 weeks but I am also an optimist usually.

^^^^Hey Scott - will they be keeping you in the loop as to where they send the car off site. I think it is your right to know ALL PLACES this car goes. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
