Hey all,

I am going to go look at a BMW for a friend of mine who lives out of state. He found a car at Advantage Certified Auto Group. I have two questions:

1. Does anyone have any experience with this dealer and if so what was your impression?

2. Who should I recommend for a Pre-Purchase Inspection of the car? Any BMW Guru's near the Fairfax, Manassass areas? Cost?

I work across the street from them. Their cars are usually pretty clean, but they tend to be a bit on the high side of retail. For a general check over of the car, we charge one hour labor ($98) If you want us to get into checking all the modules (lots of them on a BMW) for codes, we charge two hours.

Unless things have changed since the early 2000s, their "certified" cars mean certified by them. NOT BMW CPO. For the money they were charging back then, one was better off buying a used BMW from a BMW dealer with CPO. At least you get BMW warranty if something breaks...at ANY BMW dealership in the country.

 

+1 on both posts. I have been drawn to them on their clean cars, but have always found a better, deal, vehicle, etc. elsewhere.
