Awesome event...glad I made it out....nice to meet some new folks and we had a great turnout of cars

 

This was my first time to Fairlakes and it was totally worth the 1.5 hour drive for me. My pictures won't be up until tomorrow night at the earliest...it's been a busy weekend.

For those that didn't hear the story, I was driving Sunir's 996 GT2 and a state trooper pulled us over for no front tag. Haters gonna hate.

 

Talk about petty ****...they try to find whatever reason they can to pull you over...Tonk!

 

Looks like MD state trooper. What was the fine and was that bc you were an MD resident?

 

I got pulled on 95 yesterday too for the same thing coming back from Baltimore. Warning, probably because my record is clean and I had the wife and daughter, wasn't speeding. Got lucky.

 

I got pulled over in the Wrangler yesterday morning in Arundel Mills for no front tag, told him I have the tag somewhere in the trunk if he wants to check - received a warning.

First time being pulled over in 10 years for no front tag.

Tonk did the cop ask you anything about Sunir's GT2 :-)

 

Yes it was an MD state trooper. The fine (hope Sunir doesn't mind me saying) was $70.

Sunir actually had the license plate next to the passenger seat, and he pulled it out and showed the trooper. He said that he just bought the car and he ordered a front plate bracket but it hasn't arrived yet. The trooper wasn't having it.

The cop didn't ask anything about the car itself. I'm sure he just saw a flashy car and was trying to give an easy ticket on a holiday weekend.

 

I saw you pulled over on the southbound hwy as I was driving back to Bmore heading I95 Northbound, it was in the evening around 7ish or so...I saw a red 996TT with yellow front headlights and thought it was you. Did they say anything about your yellow headlights?

Yeah got a $70 fine for no front tag, I was hoping for a warning but no such luck...however the cop didn't say anything about my tints, smoked film tail light treatments, or headlight treament (laminex film like Scott's but blue instead of yellow like his) ...

I am glad we were not speeding.

Tonk bud nice pics! post a few up of my GT2 with the headlights and tail light treatments...wanna gauge some opinions...or maybe we should do a thread on the 996TT/GT2 forum instead, that will drive more traffic and opinions...what do you think buddy?
