Help me decide.....
im shocked the no one has said to buy a cadilac cts-v.. i am on my second jeep srt8 and i love it, but it is totally different than my porsche. the cts-v has 556hp stock. you can change the pulley, flash it and an intake and you will be making 750 reliable hp. the brakes and suspention are ready for the track right out of the box.
you can bet if i had a larger garage that you would find a cts-v in it

Those are the acceleration times of the pre 2010 model supercharged rovers. The 2010 model supercharged does 0-60 in 5.1, check car and driver mag. They actually have an article comparing the x5m,ctts,jeep srt8,rrssc. And they got rated in the order I mentioned them.
my point was, berk wont be happy replacing his porsche with a range rover or a srt8. the cadi will scratch that porsche itch and an suv wont..

I agree with you, but I was under the impression that he was going to replace his suv not his porsche. And Yes, we need a true sports car in the garage, to fullfill our needs.
Wow....I'm gone to Houston for a few days to come back to overwhelming responses.....seriously guys. Thank you all for the input, advice and suggestions. A lot to think about and I need to really make sure the decision I make is a sound one. I really appreciate everyone's input.
You forgot to place the skateboard in your sig.
I'd consider an M3 in your list of cars if you want to fit a babyseat in the back.
You can pick up a nice used 4 door and have that great V8 to play around with.
I have the coupe and my 18 month old fits in the back with lots of room to spare but it requires a little bit of maneuvering to get him in there (since it's a coupe) but it's not a major hassle. I have to step in to get him latched in the seat.
I've been considering a GT3 but I have to take care of my child when my wife is at work, so not having a practical backseat is now out of the question. And as others have stated, Lexus IS-f, Cadillac CTS-V and Mercedes C63 AMG have practical backseats.
I don't believe in supercharged SUV's. I've driven Porsche Cayenne's/BMW X5M etc and they are too big and heavy to really have that sports car feel. They are just souped up SUV's.
If you want to stay with Porsche, try the Panamera.
One of my friends has a RRSC and it's constantly in the garage.

Ravi - interesting you bring up the M3. I had lunch today w/ a buddy of mine who has a modified M3 E92 Sedan and let me tell you, I REALLY liked it. Stylish lines, great interior, and room in the back seat. I'm just not sure. I'm really going to take all the options in to consideratoin. The CTS-V Brian mentioned (911Stripper) could be a real contender.

If I was you, I'd test drive these cars since you know so many people who own these cars. And if you aren't find a suitable replacement for your current car then it would be better for you to keep your Porsche.
Keep the porsche.
Get another. Panamera!!!!
If not,go BMW wagon or audi avant and boost the living hell out of it.
Your kid will be safer in your p-car than most people are in their SUV's, and he'll learn that it's freakin cool. My daughter loves 928 rides and going to car shows. Stick with it.
I've got an '03 BMW 330Xi with a 6 speed for my DD now. Love it and I'll keep it alive forever, because every other dime will go into the 928 or 914!!!
Maybe I'll head out this weekend if I finish up my current project. Miss seeing you guys after being AWOL all summer.

Berk, You've been to my house and your car has been on my lift (Clutch diagnoses).
Keep the 996C4s... It's the only car in your list that you know for sure won't strand you, and will make you smile every time you drive it.
That said, I've been in a number of high end cars on racetracks this year, instructing, and I've been able to drive a number of them... Including the newest model BMW M3 in a sedan... It's a very nice car... But to me, it feels "BIG", like a five series... It also wallows a little on its suspension... Drove one around Summit Point Shenandoah circuit back at the beginning of October and was surprised at how big they feel...
As another mentioned, I'd check out the cadillacs. Very nice product line right now and the performance is pretty jaw dropping out of the box...

Good commentary in here! I have beeen back and forth between the m5 and cayenne turbo because I only have space for one car and they fit most of my criteria, what's keeps me sticking with the Cayenne turbo is my love for snowboarding and with winter tires it fares pretty nicely. I also Love playing golf and the cayenne turbo trunk is nice for that as well.
Ideally I will be buying a place with at least a two car garage within the next two years, so I can have a dedicated weekend car to keep the cayenne turbo company, and just drive the CTT into the ground.
Here's the link to my quandry (btw I live in tysons corner)
