No disrespect to you. But the work he did on my car was subpar at best. There is no way I would let that guy near my car again.

The owner. Even after multiple attempts he could never manage to get the clear bra on the hood to looK decent. Many have asked if I did the job myself. My reply was no I would have done a better job. The guys is a total clown and unprofessional to boot.

Again, I'm happy that you are satisfied with the work. I'm NOT!

Anyone who wants to see the difference in the work between Shy and this guy can come and see it. Shoot me a PM I'm in Alexandria. I have two of the same cars done and one looks excellent and one looks like ***.

^^^ Are you talking about the guy Skip Vachon? I've known skip for years back since my e36 days. He's been doing clearbra for over 10 years, I thought he was an expert by now, no?

I had him do my e36 almost 9 years ago as well.

I will say he was in a plane crash a few years ago, it was really bad. It's probably impolite to go into detail about it. But I did see him recently and he's looking great. He did my wife's Cooper S after the accident and the quality of work was excellent.

Yes I do know about that I was wondering if he is who Gunther was talking about. I don't think Skip would let bad work and unsatisfied customers go...he was a perfectionist.

Since you named him yes it was Skip. He has not learned much in those 9 years. He was late for every appointment. It required 4 seperate visits. Always a BS excuse why there was a problem. A number of forum members have seen his work and commented that it looks like ***. Again, I'm happy that he has some happy customers. But the work he did for me is pitiful at best. CAVET EMPTOR = Let the buyer beware with this guy!!!

Now Shy on the other hand, arrived on time, did what I asked him to do (Skip said no one could do this when I asked him to cover more of the car), cleaned up his work area. It was how to run a business.

My offer is still open to show anyone to see the differance in Shy's work to Skip's work. I have two of the exact same cars (VW Passat) done with the same product. You can judge yourself who knows how to install a clear bra to the customers specification and satisfaction. Night and day experiance between the two. Skip sucks and so does his customer service!

The only thing he is a perfectionist about is pissing off customers and doing perfectly lousy work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I am shocked I've known skip for over 10 years and he has always seemed to be a perfectionist, he was trained on PPF way back in like 2001 or 2002 by Rob of ProForm as a mentor. He always took pride in his work and really loved the PPF industry, tech advances, and detail oriented nature required to apply the product.

I am wondering what changed, to make this any different...I've not seen Skip in ages and I know he went thru a horrible accident...Maybe this had an impact on his work product or maybe he simply is not able to performs at the level he once did due to physical or bodily limitations.

I am really surprised to hear about your experience with Skip, certainly not indicative of the guy I knew 10 years ago...his work was impeccable back then, like I said I don't know outside of his injury what changed about him that would effect that.

See the first post if you want to see his process and work on an Aventador. He does most of the work for Ferrari & Lamborghini of Sterling.

I too need to find a new clear bra/film installer.... My last guy didn't do that great of a job leaving wavy lines in the bumper of one car and the corners on the other car he did has dirt collecting.... Also when I go to pick up my car I don't like to see dog hairs all in the back and an empty liquor bottle in a brown bag in the drivers door....

Cliff @ Auto Armour has my vote.

Did my M5 in the Summer of 2010. To date, no issues and still looks great!
