2014 Katie's Cars & Coffee - Great Falls, VA

For reference purposes, here is a link to the 2013 Katie's thread -

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...va-katies.html

Last Saturday, 1/4/14, was cold, rainy and icy. That, plus the mass of salt and sand on the streets kept me (and probably most others) home.

Here are some pictures from 1/11/14. It rained all morning, and there was still a little snow on the ground, but it warmed up from 38F into the mid-40's, so it wasn't too bad. Some die-hards came out, and brought their cars. I know I wasn't going to miss Katie's two Saturdays in a row!

That's still a great turnout in terms of quality, considering the rain. "Die-hards" is right!

I went to out to dinner with my wife last night at Chez Francois with my new CSL rims and I found a large but not deep pothole on G-town pike right off the beltway. You hit in either direction. I hope to God I did not bend my rims.

At any rate, a large portion of the pike all the way to the park is riddled with potholes and bumps on the road.

I am not sure if repair work is already ordered or if anyone knows the link to report them.

Until then please be careful!

Regards,
Loay

Katie's, 01/18/14

What would you expect on a Saturday morning in mid-January, cold, and lightly snowing? Would anyone show up for the Cars & Coffee? I went to find out...

An especially good turnout, considering it was breezy, with temperatures in the twenties, and a dusting of snow on the ground.

The next time we have a clear, warm Saturday, this place is going to be a zoo!

Not the best photo but I thought this was neat

2014 Nissan Juke NISMO RS

This is what I love about Katie's - this is the second time I see a new car in a magazine and the next day I see at Katie's. The first time actually saw it at Katie's before I saw it in the magazine - the silver 997 GT2 RS with the carbon-fiber hood.

Regards,
Loay

Hey Loay- thats my nismo! I just picked it up. Its not an RS but ive only seen one other nismo juke on the road. The RS hasnt been released yet but they will be visually identical to the nismo. Mine may look a tad different since im rolling on my winter shoes (fingers crossed for some major snow here in columbia lol)

Congrats and thanks for the correction on Nismo vs Nismo RS. I actually did look at the back wondered about that. 4 wheel drive and snow tires - should be very cool!
