Another perfect-weather Saturday. I got to Katie's shortly after 5:30AM, and there were already about 25 cars there, including one I was told was left on the lot overnight. An amazing collection of very diverse vehicles, with exotics, classics, hot rods, and even a steam-powered car.
Aw, man. Wish I would've made it, yesterday. I haven't seen any of the Stanleys in a couple years. I'm hoping that means Jim Keith, the owner, is still around. He's pretty well up there, in age (he's in his 90s). I've never met him, as the cars are usually brought by Joe Shukay, who restored the cars and is their caretaker. A few years ago, I had a great conversation with a steam car enthusiast from Adelaide, Australia. He was here visiting Jim Keith for Jim's 90th birthday. Those steam car guys are a very tight-knit group! In any case, I can't remember the Australian guy's name, but he was a great guy. I'm glad to see the cars are still around.
I'll try harder to make it out, next weekend (with my luck, it'll probably be raining).
My new purchase is a Caterham 7. It arrived Tuesday, 8/11/15, and we've been enjoying it ever since. Here's a picture of my wife in the car. I have to fight her for time in it!

Jim is a great guy. In the 90's he traded me a drive in my Greenwood Daytona for a drive in his Stanley Steamer. We both had a blast!

Hey, congratulations, Bob!
I'll no doubt have some questions for you the next time I see you. I'll be in NJ in a few hours and won't be back until Saturday evening, so I won't make it to Katie's.
A Caterham 7 is something I'd very much like to own, when I get the chance. My Spider just isn't light enough, for me. Short of an Ariel Atom, the Caterham must be the most fun you can have on four wheels. I believe it may be the only thing that could keep me off motorcycles (which would please my mom). Unfortunately, from what I understand, Caterhams in the US are quite expensive, whereas bikes are cheap, by comparison.
There's always a great turnout at Katie's, and Saturday was no exception. A really nice addition was the parade of cars that went over to do a parade by Dr. Art Pilla's house. Dr. Pilla is in home hospice, and unable to get out and do car stuff, so we brought Katie's to him. The last picture is Dr. Pilla's neighborhood street.
A good turnout at Katie's, early this morning... then, it started raining, intermittently. Many of us bolted - I wasn't so lucky. I had my initiation into the world of low-volume kitcars... My Seven would not start, but after some serious diagnostics by a lot of talented people, I was able to get towed by a Katie's regular.
Thanks to all the folks who helped me with my car this morning!
